Just got a phone call from JoeyA. He is traveling plush over in Mobile, staying at the Hilton with a rich friend or two. He said the tourney has a strong field, 94 players with no lack of shortstops in it.
I hate to bust my friend Joey but he is a little lazy. He is staying out of the hard work in the tournament and working the action tables. He played some Squirrel guy last night and found a few dollars. Joey said he managed to stay out of the rail betting when Scooter took New Orleans's own Ricky P for some serious coin last night so he is still nice and fat and his nose is open if anyone wants to play a little.
Rumor has it that Randy and Craig from New Orleans are the ones that took a major beating on the rail and maybe as backers for the three sets that Ricky lost to Scooter, all three going hill hill. They said no problem though, plenty more where that came from if anyone wants to come to New Orleans!
Hillbilly, John Morra, Hennessey, I think Stevie Moore, and the usual gulf coast gang are at Mobile and the side action is huge from the report I am getting. Those that ain't there should have been. Sounds like the joint is hopping. Wouldn't be surprised if most of the show doesn't move to White Diamond's in Lafayette Louisiana next weekend. Think I'll have to sneak over there myself.
It was a long phone conversation. I remember Joey saying something about Gulfport Doc but I don't remember what except that he and some other AZB'ers are there. David Parker chasing a little action too I believe.
Good Times!
