Yes, there was a gap, but is really really
tiny.
Since I was the original person who took the 1mm jump video and posted it on line, and I have watched this shot personally, I think I should post to clarify this.
Larry came to the Az room this year in the DCC, and did it again, with the X Breaker shaft. I think he did it two or three times. After a while, it looked automatic.
It was perhaps an easy shot for him? He certainly made it look easy. The balls were not frozen, had about 1mm gap between them.
There is a video on the X Breaker site when he actually jumped too far with this shot. Dont ask me how that was possible!!!
He then did the draw shot with the X Breaker...the cue ball hit the object ball, stopped, delayed, then spin backward. You can see an earlier video of this shot on the X breaker web site.
I wish I took a video of that draw shot in the Az room, it was such a beauty...the delay was very distint. I am sure he could draw back even more with his own cue, but he already did the whole table length with the X Breaker. Larry is just a totally amazing player, and a real gentleman.
About Luat, he does have an awesome stroke. I watched him won a draw shot tournament for $3000 or $5000 competing with Reyes, Bustamante, Archer, Earl, and a bunch of other pro players in Japan. Object ball on the lip of the pocket, cue ball on the head string, he drew the cue ball back down table, hit two rails, and back up pass the center of the table! Laut can spin that cue ball when he has to.
I think Corey also has an amazing stroke, and he is not afraid to use it in a real game.
What about that shot on the 5 ball Ralf made in the WPC to get on the 6? That was a nice stroke shot that is a lot tougher than it looked.
