I'm wondering if it is the cue ball causing this?
Am I wrong or could they use any bridge/rest they choose? Why not bring their own bridge head and use it on their break cue?
Finish/polish on the balls, or maybe even the fact that the Americans aren't used to the "X" style of rest (mechanical bridge). In almost every case, I see (e.g. Mike, on that 6-ball) aiming "down" on the cue ball with a short bridge length. They have to open it up when you use the "X" style of rest!

not saying that what the top players say is the 'gospel', but I recall Hatch and Dechaine both saying the measle ball skids, swerves more and is junk.
It's gotta be something with the balls (or cue ball as you point out).
Since the conditions are pretty much perfect....
I don't think that's what caused Hatch to DOG that 4 ball! These guys got to get in sync!!
There appears to be just a few constant, vocal hecklers that are trying to get the USA's goat. A little cheering for your team is cool, but jeering the opposition, especially while they are down on the shot is classless imo.
Seemed like a group hollar when Mike was down on that 9! EJECT em all I say!! Wankers

But there seems to be lots of skids in relative few amount of games with near perfect equipment.
