Mosconi Cup 2012 Day (3) Discussion

Am I wrong or could they use any bridge/rest they choose? Why not bring their own bridge head and use it on their break cue?

The measle ball is a joke

I'm wondering if it is the cue ball causing this?

not saying that what the top players say is the 'gospel', but I recall Hatch and Dechaine both saying the measle ball skids, swerves more and is junk.

It's gotta be something with the balls (or cue ball as you point out).

Since the conditions are pretty much perfect....

Good point. Appleton uses his own collapsing/telescoping "X" bridge, and nearly insists on using (in lieu of the mechanical bridges the establishment offers) in every tournament he enters.

Finish/polish on the balls, or maybe even the fact that the Americans aren't used to the "X" style of rest (mechanical bridge). In almost every case, I see (e.g. Mike, on that 6-ball) aiming "down" on the cue ball with a short bridge length. They have to open it up when you use the "X" style of rest!

when they miss they have choked, these are top pro's. I always blame myself for a miss how ever it happened.

I don't think that's what caused Hatch to DOG that 4 ball! These guys got to get in sync!!

There appears to be just a few constant, vocal hecklers that are trying to get the USA's goat. A little cheering for your team is cool, but jeering the opposition, especially while they are down on the shot is classless imo.

Tank - Yea, Hatch did dog it. Absolutely

And it didn't skid on him. No doubt.

But there seems to be lots of skids in relative few amount of games with near perfect equipment.

One of the European players should tell them to shut up or get out.

Well the referee should, but this is to much. Cheer when a shot is made, be quiet when a player is even standing behind the cueball. There was a guy whistling when hatch was shooting.. fk off.

Seemed like a group hollar when Mike was down on that 9! EJECT em all I say!! Wankers

When you have new/clean cloth and clean balls, skids seem to come more frequent. At any rate, that 2 ball that Hatch pooched is shameful!

Well Europe was up after 5 racks, based on my observations means they pretty much have no chance to win this set. USA has it in the bag...onto Shuff.

U-Rope Wailers

If I was on the European Team, I would ask the U-ROPE Wailers to save it until after the match. It's really sad.

How can the European Team feel good about beating the American Team, if they were to win the Mosconi Cup, if the U-Rope Wailers keep taking the American players out of their game, with their constant wailing?
