*** Mosconi Cup 2015 Updates Thread ***

They quoted Keith, "As Keith McCready used to say, 'Man Overboard.'" :grin-square:

Nick studying the 3. Did a pretty good job on that shot. Nick doesn't seem to be rattled at all. At the table, he's doing a good job of living inside the rails. Perfect shape.

Shooting the 5 ball in teh corner, pockets it. He knows he must get out. He cannot let Corey get back to the table.

Shooting the 7, rail first and makes it.

Looking at a picture-perfect run-out on the 8 and 9. Nick wins.

Score tied, 4-4. It wil force a 1-game decider.

Corey has been flirting with the side pocket with his cue ball on the break. Hill Hill - he better not scratch.

Captain Mark Wilson comes over to Corey and gives him words of praise and congratulations on that good play, while massaging his shoulder.

Nick has not enjoyed a victory yet, either in singles or doubles, in the Cup this year.

All-important break shot for Nick. Breaking from the left, all because of the 1-ball's ability to squirt in the side pocket. 6-ball goes in the corner. He's got a shot on the 1, and everything is out on the open. The key here is getting from the 1-ball to the 2.

Lot-a-green shot on the 1, and he makes it, but he has a bad leave on the 2. Nick may have to go for a safety. There's no bank available. Plays a safety on the 2. Corey will have to kick at the 2.

Corey gets his jump cue. This is a tough jump. That ball can go right off the table. He better hit it solid. Off the table with the cue-ball. Ball in hand to Nick.

Nick & Karl beat Corey & Mike in the first doubles match on day 1.

Nick breaks the 6 down and has a shot on the one. Good spread.

Nick makes the one and safes on the 2 ball

Corey with the short stick, jump-bank attempt....the CB goes of the table.

Nick runs out.

Double Hill

holy crap, was not expecting Corey to dog that, and then Nick's shot was even worse.

Corey getting ready to break. Both players look stern.

Breaking from the left again. Can he make the 1 in the side? Nope. A ball has gone down. He's got a shot at the 1. It's tight, but he can see the 2. 9-ball tied up with the 4.

Long shot on the 1, but he wobbled it in. Not such good position on the 3. He's still at the table, but he's in trouble, and he knows it. Corey calls a time-out.

Pockets the 3 and can't see enough of teh 4 to make it. Even if he could, he can't do anything with the 5. It is really tight. Referee on alert. If the 9-ball moves, it's a foul. 3 is right next to 5.

Makes a clean shot. He caromed off the 5 ball to make the 6 duck shot. This is for the match right now, 5 in the side, and Corey misses. What a gift for Europe!

Nick can't get to the table quick enough. Corey couldn't make the key shot there. He missed it badly.

Nick returns the favor and misses. The nerves are getting to both players. This is the Mosconi Cup, the highest pressure event in pool.

Nick is sick, turning green.

He's got a toughie on the 7 in the corner. He wobbled it in. Looking at a straight in 8 in the corner. He camea up a wee bit short on the 9. He's got to really stretch. 9 ball down. America wins the point.

5-4. Corey wins.

Crazy match ,but Corey pulls out the hill hill win, to keep us in it.

*There is definitely gonna be a Day 4* Go USA.
