The problem with pool in my opinion is that skill does not reflect winning/losing in a match especially a race to 5. In pool you can play a perfect game and lose an alternative break race to 5 match. Then you could also play horribly and still win.

The reason being is two things. Break luck and layout luck - If we can solve this issue just like how snooker solved it, then we have a better game but I understand people love watching ppl breaking balls hard so we cannot solve this. And don't go with the "Practice the break thing" cause each table breaks differently, its just random most of the time plus the GAME layout itself is very very important and also very random.

So again, you can play horrible and win, you can play great and lose. Simple as that

SVB and the rest of the team are trailing by more than 20 games. Each team has gotten equal opportunity to break other than the odd game which is still dependent on their result on the lag. Luck may play a factor in one or two matches but not getting shelled 70-45.
 
Sky makes a great jump and the combination to win rack three. Tyler and JJ come out to give some support. SVB? Nope. Must be moping somewhere.

Doesn't matter, we could both break equally but the break luck & layout luck can be in your favor and allow you to beat me miserably. Let's say you break 30 breaks and out of all of them each time you get a shot on lower numbered balls plus EASY layout, i.e. stop shots roadmap from one ball to another. While I get clusters and very very difficult layout each game while 70% of my games I'm hooked and can't see the lower-numbered balls. These stuff happens in pool and if the race is to 5 then man, even a great player can lose easily.

I'm not just saying being hooked after the break is the only thing, but the LAYOUT plays a massive massive role, go ahead and put easy layouts and see how many times you run out, then put TRICKY layouts and see how much harder those are. It can happen that in a match race to 5 you get every tricky layout while I get by sheer luck all the easy layouts. Even if you're better than me, i'd beat you.

Thats all I'm saying.

I see what you are saying, but it really has nothing to do with pool. It could be horseshoes or tiddlywinks, you expect the best player in your country to at least be a factor.

Score ( 70-45) bout right based on the talent/seasoning bias playing races to 5, alternate break.

Our 16" gun (SVB), as i've said on numerous occasions, goes from a top 3 player in the world (winner break format) to a top 30 player @ the Mosconi event.

Skyler has matured into a competitive player, however, the rest of our team doesn't put much hitch in the euro's giddy-up
 
Kind of wonder if svb has ever had a good record in a team event. Something different about just worrying about letting yourself down as opposed to letting team mates or your country down. That's considerably more pressure to some people.

SVB's played in 14 MC's and been on a winning side 3 times('09,'18,'19). Won the WorldCup with Rodney in '08.
 
Uh oh, with Shane or Chris up it is an 85% chance for a loss. Wrap this one up, it's over boys.
 
If Shane loses, and loses the cup in this match, I suppose it will be fitting. I hope he wins just to get a little bit of pride back, and extend the tournament a little longer
