Mosconi Cup Team USA Named!

I believe it is first come, first served. So people with tickets line up early to be first in the door. That said there is no bad seat in the house.
Yes, some people get in line half an hour before the doors open, but I've never had a problem getting a good seat. One thing that makes all of the seats good is that there are monster TV screens on each side of the big light fixture above the table so that everyone can watch the instant replays. It's easier to see the monitors if you are back a few rows.

Remember to bring flags if you have them.

I'd hate to come all the way just to watch the game on monitors :(. So even if I get a decent seat, if I leave to go get something to drink, it's up for grabs? I wish they would let us buy numbered seats :(

Seating at the Mosconi Cup

I understand the seating to be slightly improved this year vs. 2009. Also with some increased capacity

It's gonna be great!

Wish they were teams of 6. I became a fan of Hatch after watching some of his matches at the open.

No. Lots of people take breaks during commercials and go back to their own seats, just like in movie theaters.

Honor system... love it! Something the Europeans probably don't care much for. I couldn't believe the kind of heckling our guys had to put up with last year. Cheer for your team... that's fine. But don't laugh out loud when someone misses from the opposite team... that's just crass!

Its going to be tough to not reciprocate the same way to the Europeans this year... I'm not making any promises :)

+1

Points aside, there aren't many American players I would take over Dennis in a pressure match. Just doesn't seem right to me he isn't playing.

My opinion is that the Mosconi Cup held at York Hall was one of the most exciting pool events ever televised. If it ever aired on television in the United States, pool might begin to attract an audience. It was in a word - GREAT Television! Drama and pressure, with tons of emotion and spectacular play; the 2010 Mosconi cup had it all! For fear of being redundant, Matchroom's got it right!

You're so right Jay! I was watching the US Open finals and went to bed before it was over(and I love pool!!) I was bored to death... The Mosconi Cup on the other hand keeps you on the edge of your seat! Short races, the crowd is into it, partners, shot clock!!! USA! USA!!

Will the event this year be on tv or streamed?

It will be televised (SkySports), of that I'm certain. It will air in most of the free world, except for right here in the good old USA??? If we get to see it at all, it may be a watered down version shown long after the fact. As far as live streaming, that I don't know.

No Bad seats ?

There were plenty of bad seats. Last 4 or 5 rows behind the players seats were at the same height and because of tall guys sitting in the front, the people seated behind had to struggle to see the game. I and my friends could not see every aspect of the play. To get better seats, I am not going to go there and stand in the line for 30-45 minutes before the gates open. During the last Mosconi at MGM, they had a wierd/irrational system of checking at the gate and that wierd system caused substantial delays to get in. Some of my friends complained about climate control in the arena.
I hope they could do a better job this year.

mosconi cup

I am definately looking forward to the cup this year with the addition of mike dechaine it might just be the spark the us team needs. Its known that so of the players have issues with eachother but I feel they will put that aside and be a strong force... great seeing svb archer and morris always but lookn forward to dechaine how he carries himself also a great chance to gain more fans and. A chance to gain respect for and from his teamates...

How does Putnam do in high pressure games? Has he been to a Mosconi cup before?

Also, how important is skill vs. ability to strike fear in the opponent? Ralf Souquet is beatable, but when players line up against him, they have a fear in their bellies and that's half the work for Souquet. Earl does that well... does Shawn strike any fear in his opponents?

I have no doubt that Shawn will play well. I like the make-up of this team. This should be a real good Mosconi Cup, going right down to the wire.

Reminder: This weekend!

Sunday November 6th!

That makes so much sense.....The game pretty much started over here, but gets shown everywhere else BUT here, why does that sound wierd, Hummm. Be like not showing soccer in Brazil, WhY?....because Pele and Mosconi have nothing in common, HUH? The BCA should come up with something to stimulate play.
