I am so mad. the most talked about and would like to watch is being held today in vegas. the mosconi cup and we cant pay to watch in the usa. where is the big boys (accustats tar and u-tube) who tells who that can and cant stream. they let some off the wall fox station show on time delay that no cable outlet carries. this is a disgrace and shows why pool can never get anywhere in the good old usa

Looks like Fox Sports 2 is only showing 2 hours of Mosconi Cup. :o

The only way to watch it is if you are *not* in the United States, unless you use that website http://www.hidemyass.com/vpn/ that somebody mentioned. Then you can get livestreaming from http://www.pool.livesport.tv/ $4.95 for the entire event.

If you are *not* in the United States, you can see the entire thing at skysports channel. :(

All of us yesterday who couldn't get Skysports channel, because we're in the U.S., watched "The Strickland Story" here: http://firstrowus1.eu/watch/193916/3...skysports.html :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Maybe we will get lucky, and they will feature the Mosconi Cup live.

Happy viewing! :)

I am pretty sure it will pop up on various streaming sites for those in the US. FirstRowSports already has a link up to 2 streams set to air later today.

:speechless:Yep our Governing Body of Pool....spent their time and money to honor Matchroom Sports/Barry Hearn and induct him into our HOF yet....did not follow thru, and miscued on this Golden Opportunity. :thud: Typical.

this very situation, debacle, if you will, is exactly what earl talks about and what gets him "tilted"....I mean, WTF?...reminds me of the msm not covering the America's cup back in the 80's when we raced Australia....we had won it for 12 years, straight and the Atlanta journal & constitution was not covering it in the paper.....I made one call to the sports editor and explained the newsworthiness.......it was covered then on.......maybe that is what we ALL have to do........raise hell and get it covered. I only ask, who can we call?

Myself, having sailed against Buddy Melgas I understand your feelings. The irony of this, the BCA and the pro players have similar mindsets, ''whats in it for ME''.

This is kind of an unfair statement. The players have, for several years, not had enough opportunities to cover their immediate living expenses playing only. When you are forced to make decisions to cover this weeks expenses or sacrifice for the greater good, it's a tough choice but most opt for this weeks expenses.

We keep hearing, "The industry needs to come together". Does mean that everyone should pool their funds? Not compete? Of course not. It simply means we need an organized structure. One the motivates young players to reach higher.

Here's the areas that need a common goal. How can we get players from one level to the next?

Casual fun player
League players
Action players
Tournament players
Professional players

What are these organization doing to get people involved and move them up through the levels?

BEF
BCA
ABP
WPA

The Mosconi cup is something that gets people interested in the game. People that don't even play pool watch it. After it's over, what will the Industry do to nurture that interest?

Happy Shooting! :D

I second all of that.

Taken from the Badi Nazhat thread:

: OFFICIAL USA POOL PLAYER MOVEMENT

It’s quite clear that pool players worldwide need to voice, so let’s cut to the chase…

The movement should be conceived through the notion of wanting to make change for the good of the game. So we need the following (please add):

1. REGULAR MEETINGS: This should consist of;
Face to face, tele-meetings and internet chat rooms. We have in place -
AZBILLIARDS = FREE and supportive of the pool player
SKYPE = FREE
EXISTING MAJOR EVENTS -
I suggest that regular meetings take place at gatherings such as The DCC, The SBE and The BCAPL Finals (I’m sure others could be used). Pool players should agree on a location and time to carry out a productive 2-3 hours meeting which should be chaired and minuted by accepted volunteers. On a personal note, I may be able to attend 1 or 2 meetings in person - failing that I would be available for SKYPE meetings.

2. A RECRUITMENT POLICY - Get as many people to sign up and be members. Membership is FREE to the first 1000 members. Thereafter membership costs $1 usd. HIS IS NOT REVENUE GENERATED for the initial set up.

3. SET REAL AGENDA’S WITH REAL OUTCOMES - First meeting should be driven to outline the movements NAME, objectives, terms and conditions and a proposed PLAN OF ACTION in the form of an official REPORT.

4. OFFICIAL WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIAS - for al latest news and developments.
Website cost = $0.00 I will donate my time to build a website and maintain it upon the official membership target of 1000 members has been hit. This is to NOT WASTE ANYONE’S TIME AND EFFORTS.

HTC- HERE”S TO CHANGE
Once a target of 1000 members has been hit, new proposals and targets should be set in place. There is an opportunity of sponsorship here as you can read above, I have lifted HTC’S slogan. Nothing is guaranteed but at least this shows direction. With a MASTER PLAN and a following, I remain positive that company’s will show interest in us. Numbers changes EVERYTHING!

PLEASE NOTE: This is just a sketch idea and will need YOUR support and efforts to get this off the ground. I also propose that WE invite Badi Nazhat to become the first OFFICIAL MEMBER of this movement in honour of his efforts so far to move pool in the right direction!

Also - this IS NOT an idea proposal for me to take charge or try to run this movement! It is not my intention to become the pool master of any of you. I live for the FREE WORLD.

Feel free to add, however the time is now to ACT not critic…
WHAT DO YOU THINK? - IT’S UP TO YOU, THE POOL PLAYERS NOW.

I would love for Jerry or Mike or JP to get a statement from Mr.Hearn as to why we can't get access to watch The Mosconi Cup without having to go thru hoops to do it.

Why will they not allow people in the US to simply pay for the stream like the rest of the world can? Why are we blocked from it? One side of the battle, so to speak, so one half the audience, in theory...

I understand the TV issues, more or less, and at least there is a presence on Fox Sports 2,which is great progress. Still, it makes no sense that people here cannot pay to watch the stream on the internet like the rest of the world....

C'Mon, Hall of Famer....please explain this to us.

there will be several free streams available closer to match time.

I agree, this is the same scenario every year. I bought the package last year (Living in Canada) and ended up watching another free stream, because it was a better stream.

Cheers,

Ray, yeah it is ''Kind of an unfair statement.'' No different than Yelling at your kids for screwing up. Depending on how loud you yell they tend to then listen a little more, and if you YELL loud enough, they ''Get It''. This situation is NO different than the Paul Neuman situation after he passed. They had it on their agenda, but....................:thud:
