They said 7 break and runs per team so far...that's not muchBarry Hearn had it right all along. With these table conditions and alternate break, the matches don’t seem quite so short any more. I think the fallacy of the short races to five has been debunked here. There are very few break and runs and a lot of play after the break; safeties and push outs being vitally important.
One difference I have seen this year is improved safety play by Team USA.
I am with you on the race to 5. It adds a ton of pressure to every shotKeeping the races to 5 is ideal for the Mosconi Cup format. It keeps the underdog alive, the comebacks alive, and allows for commercial breaks between every game or two and still get in one match roughly every hour, or slightly less. With 5 matches per day (potentially 6 or 7 on the final day) that’s as long a time frame as the viewing audience (in person and on livestream) could possibly handle.
It didn't take long for a 'KNOCKER" to show up!The US sure knows how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
They've thrown away several sets where they had a big lead and there was no excuse for losing from there. Stating facts isn't "knocking".It didn't take long for a 'KNOCKER" to show up!
