Most gentleman pool players as gamblers when they lose!!

I’m cool win or lose, it’s just pool. In anything that the way to be. Sadly I don’t play good as the top guys. Most ppl I’ve gambled with on the regular were cool losers. More often than not.

Sure it’s easy to get mad, but never at who I’m playing. Unless they pulled a move and that’s usually the end of the action forever.

Being too emotional about any result is bad for your game, what ever game you play
For sure I'm not in the know anymore if I ever was.
Seems to me one of the qualities of a Professional is their demeanor around the table. Win, Lose, Draw, or In the Heat of the moment.

Most of the big match-ups I've seen are tournament matches. I don't see (and don't seek) match-ups with personal money at stake. Or even when there's personal backers matching up head to head.

I definitely know these game happen but they're nearly never recorded. In most cases it would be completely stupid to record and publish a $50K game at Joe's Arcade.

I heard of a $10K 1P match up at the DCC with one of our "local hero's".
I wouldn't travel 10' to watch that game.

Quite a few come to mind.......
Daryl Peach, Ralph Soquet,Steve Davis. One I vividly remember was Jennifer Baretta as she lost to a local shortstop 9-4 in 9-Ball. Very classy to show the guy some respect with a smile and a congratulatory handshake. 🙂

Guess it depends if you are emotionally hurt,or financially hurt from the loss. Sukks to be both.
Concerning Earl,....... gotta be emotion.

I’ve been around pool gambling a long time, it’s easy to act like a gentlemen when you win. Who are the best sportsman’s as they lose a set gambling? Oscar Domingues, He is always a gentleman win or lose. I would also say Shannon Murphy even as a kid when he lost he took it like man and didn’t complain or whine. Whose other examples of pool players that gamble a lot?
I ALWAYS pay my $0.50, even when he cheated.

I cant remember who he was playing, but back in the day Allen Hopkins beat a guy out of 90,000! Afterwards the guy took Allen out for dinner. I’d say he took it very well!
