Im just curious about this cue and was wondering if anybody had some info on it...material wise...and mainly what would something like this cost...Its got to be around or above $10,000.

By the way...this has to be the most beautiful cue I've ever seen...Im normally a traditional kind of guy...but I think I would have to own this even if it played like a broom with a cast iron tip.

I was standing around Don Shermans booth last year at the Derby and the topic of this very cue came up, someone said that Mottey made 2 of those. The design was originated by Ernie G. of Ginacue. His Smithsonian cue I think. I know the guy that ordered the first one from Paul. I know he has since sold it, so there is a very good possibility this is his cue. It is even more Amazing in person. I know Paul has taken some flack in certain circles for maybe being a little too faithful to Ernie's design.

One thing is certain it is an amazing display of craftsmanship.

Not being fecicious, but isn't that a Ginacue?
Kind of....:D

As I stated above..Mottey made 2...shall we say "Inspired by" or "tribute" cues. A guy at the Derby told me last year that Mottey mentioned to him that he "wished he never would of built the damned things". I guess he underestimated the flack that would come. All hearsay of course , but it is hearsay from people who ARE the high end market. :D

Well Matt...

Im not trying to give credit to anyone when it is due to others....I simply listed it as it was listed on Proficient's site. I really wouldn't know because I haven't seen an example of either makers work in person...Hell, the only high end cues Im ever near are the ones owned by friends. 2 gilberts, an It's George, and a Bella Sara. And maybe when Jon gets some money together a Schick. He aparently is close friends with one of Bill's old gambling bodies, and knows some people that Bill has given cues to as gifts. Wow, how nice that must be.

But anyway I agree with JCIN...Its an amazing display of craftsmanship.

Oh yea anyone gotta Price $$$.

I just saw the picture and thought it was a Ginacue. Beautiful cue. Believe me, I'm no purist when it comes to that stuff. If that were the case, no one but Rambow could have made four point cues with wraps.

beautiful cue

That is truly a beautiful cue. WOW.

I love the natural wood or earth tones. My kind of cue, but my pockets are not deep enough.

I held one of the two that Paul made and it is even more stunning in person. Also heard about the flack for being too faithful to Ernie's original design.

Yep, think this and the other one really put Jimbo into his "cue design theft" straight-jacket, so-to-speak. The design is obviously Gina, but there are Mottey elements in the cue as well. It's a beautiful design imho.

Jimbo was the first name that came to mind when I saw this cue. It is a very beautiful "tribute" cue. I can understand why he took flack for building it.

It doesn't change my opinion of Mottey, I still think he's a world class cuemaker.
