Travis, I'm not real sure if I'm supposed to say "thanks" or not.

Sort of makes it sound like you see things my way.....I think.

Travis, you are really getting better as a poster. Your posts are more sensible and more thoughful than ever, and more respectful of others than ever before. You are one of the most improved AZB posters of late.

I can understand your dilemna. I can't tell if Travis is doing a poor job of being sarcastic or a poor job of being complimentary.

I would like to say this about Mr. Wilson. He has had the perfect temperment in my book. If you're going to give someone a badge and gun, he's the one.

I made a few comments on the boards, just passing thoughts really. I received a nice, thoughtful, private reply from Mr. Wilson to me. The message was not meant to attract attention. He explained a situation, his reasoning, etc. and I totally agreed with him. I was impressed that he took the time to write me a note of explanation.

I also respect the fact that he does not take things too personally. Some people push the envelope. He warns and gives everyone a chance, but I do not think he gets into ridiculous grudge matches with posters.

Let's face it, the people who have been banned (permanently) have pretty much done it to themselves. They probably have a problem with all authority. I will admit, I miss some of the posters who were very entertaining. But I do not for one moment blame Mr. Wilson. He does not act rashly.

You guys ar hilarious. I agree with Chris that Dave has done a good job of not taking things personally - he pissed me off once and I pushed the envelope as far as I could, and he still was cool about everything and willing to explain his point of view. Sometimes it's not about being fair, but more about maintaining the forum. Some of the bannings seem rash, and there are a couple of guys in here that I have no idea how they weren't 86'd ages ago, but there's usually background stuff going on that we don't know about.

it is funny!

Not sure if you are being damned with faint praise or not. Kinda funny regardless when I am on the outside looking in. :D

You are pleasing most of the people most of the time, doing a largely thankless job that most of us wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. I'm wishing you the best this holiday season!

He's got the patience of JOB to put up with some of us malletheads:)

I think Mr. Wilson is fine. I wouldn't want his job. No matter what he does, there's always gonna be someone who pisses and moans about it.

For some strange oddball reason, his screen name reminds me of the Mister Wilson character in Dennis the Menace

How many people would take on his job? I'm bloody sure I wouldn't want to! Hats off to you, Mr. Wilson.

Or better yet... Walk a mile in his shoes and then you can say whatever you want... because you will be a mile away, and have his shoes.

This sounds like an "apple polishing" post to me, coming from a controversial poster who just yesterday said he was PM'ing Mr. Wilson because some people were using "bad language" in the Chat section.

Geez. "A great job of banning members who don't see things his way"? For one thing, banning people for having different opinions than his own is pretty much the worst thing a moderator could do. Praising someone for such behavior is just... I haven't the words. It's like a Russian back in the day saying "Hey, Stalin! Way to go with those purges! Thumbs-up!"

IMHO Mr. Wilson's quite the opposite sort of moderator - he doesn't let things get personal, in an enormously thankless (aside from this thread, heh) job.

mr wilson

well he is that too so i just wanted to say something nice about him you know he has done a lot on here:)

thanks

I think

that Dave does a good job. Posters that have a constant negative attitude on any subject (known as trolls), or will never concede a point
to any other poster, to me, are just troublemakers. I like varied points of view, and no one is perfect. I prefer for the board to be a learning envirornent.

But, dem troublemakers, you either gotta put'em in jail or run'em out of town, because we have no way to just shoot'em .... lol
