Hello ,

I have read post here from several years ago talking about how good Meuller’s Sneaky Pete’s were. I see they are selling a 2 piece Hustler Sneaky Pete. Are these as good as the older ones or are they a different made by another overseas company. Here is the link to it -

I like a good sneaky and always wanted to try out one ofvv CD the older ones. Just curious if these are as good. Thanks

The Hustler Professional is still inconspicuous and even better quality. This two-piece Professional Hustler cue is perfect when you prefer a more professional two-piece hidden-joint cue. This cue has a 1" long Juma ferrule with a 12.5" taper and a 13mm Le Pro French tip. The shaft of Canadian hard rock maple is hand-selected for whiteness and straight grain. The shaft wood has been stored in our temperature-controlled environment and stress relief turned. This stabilizes the wood and makes it less likely to warp, so you’re getting a superior product.

The butt of the cue is made of bocote and spliced with maple for the 4-prong construction. This cue is hand-turned, sanded, professionally balanced and has a four-step, hand-rubbed finish placed on it. When you want a little more at an affordable price, this cue is for you. 58" overall length. Available in weights of 17-21 oz. Made in the USA by Mueller's.

For the price I would think it's worth a try to see for yourself how good the cue might be.

Several years ago those cues played good because RAT made most of them. Its my understanding they are now "Jackpot Sneakies" made by Schmelke. Just go buy one from them and save yourself some $ for your gas tank.
Would RAT make one of these if asked directly?

When I bought some in the 90's, they were a lot cheaper, like 30 bucks each, I think. Maybe in quantity buys?

I lost one playing against Scott Frost, imsmc. I think he sold it soon after but not sure how much.

I've never been burnt by Muellers. What's the worse that could happen?

Pretty sure they're still made in-house. Good cues. They only offer them from time to time. UPDATE: i msg'd them and they are no longer made in-houe as stated by a previous poster. All they said was 'a US family-owned co.' makes them now so Schmelke is a safe bet.

Howdy All;

Was able to purchase one of the 'older' variety last fall. Needed a new furruel.
Sent it off to RAT cues. I also asked if he'd make another, said the price to get
a new one from him not be what it used to be. Also mentioned that they are
getting them directly from Schmelke.

Years ago Mueller's offered 2 versions of a Sneaky Pete cue- the cheaper ones were not made in house by Ryan. The Sneaky Pete "professional" cue was the SP made in house and that cue was never $30. I believe that the in house SPs were between $90 and $150 in the 1990s.

Th cheap ones were imports.

Mike M. Howdy;

According to Mr. "RAT" they changed the pin style from Flat to the piloted 5/16-14 as well.
Might be the difference between the plain and Pro (?).

This is great!
So now any cues made for another company by Schmelke will have Jackpot in front of their name.
Think of the possibilities.
Jackpot Schons
Jackpot Vikings
Jackpot Mcdermotts.
I'm not saying Schmelke makes cues for the above,just having a little fun that has been lacking on this web site lately.
