Has anyone had any experience with Muellers as far as leather wrap jobs and cue refinishing?

jjollie

Not personally but many people have posted on here that they were pleased with the work Muellers has done. You might try searching Meullers on this site.

Not me, but Ratcues on this very forum is their cue repair guy (or at least one of them) why not ask him.

Yes. I have been using mufflers to remove leather wraps for years.

They are what an onion grater is to an onion, but for leather wraps.

Oh, "Meullers", never mind...

P.S. There's too much violins on television these days.

I had a stack leather wrap put on my Varney and it turned out perfect. I'm actually sending my Carmeli today to get a cork wrap put on and have one of the shafts turned down.

Let us know how that cork wrap works out, I'm curious at least.

I gave them my cue and asked them to make a predator shaft to match the cue. They said no problem, would take about two weeks. Everytime I called they told me they were out of the blank shafts. They said the shipment was coming in in two days. This went on for a month longer than they originally told me. One day I called and somone said I was not being given the correct information. He said they had no idea when the shafts were coming in. I told them to send my stick back and forget the job. They next day I noticed my credit card was charged for the job. I called to ask what was going on. They said the shaft was done and would be sent out then next day. This part was correct. I finally received my stick back about six weeks after the original time line. I buy from them at Valley Forge because their selection is large and they prices are good, but I personally would not ask them to do any work on my stick again. I've heard good things about their work. Maybe I was the exception with my bad experience.

I assure you that your experience is an exception. Sometimes things get lost in translation from the shop to the inbound phone operators or even customer service. We were out of blanks and once I got my hands on one, I finished your cue as soon as I could. Give me a second chance and I will make everything right.

Well i am lucky enough to have a fine cue maker in my area that does wraps and makes quality cues, STEVE LOMAX is a man of his word and does great work, and that is all i got to say about that!!!! STICK:D :D :D :D

Ryan is good to work with

I too have had good experiences working with Ryan.
He converted a predator 314-2 joint for me to fit my Schon. Perfect job
I then had him put a leather alligator wrap on my Schon. Perfect job.
The first time I worked with Ryan, I had him build a break cue. In a mix up he sent me a standard playing shaft. He let me keep the standard shaft and then in a reasonable time made the break shaft to my specs. He also helped me think through refinishing my Schon. Taking his advice I did not do the refinish job. Even though he could have made money on the refinsih he advised me not to do it because he was concerned I would not get what I was looking for.
I intend to have Ryan do my repairs and wraps in the future.
