My BEST 9 ball break

I believe in years past my record is six balls on a 4.5x 9 table playing nine ball and seven balls on the bar table playing nine ball but these days after I break a nine ball rack it looks like I did a one pocket break.

Thats what happened to me the other day. :) Share yours.

You made more balls on that one break than I did since July. :frown:

Best 9 ball break

I've only made 5 (twice) on 9' table, but one of those breaks of 5 down INCLUDED the 9-ball !!!

Nice break!

I was playing a friend some cheap sets when he broke and made 6-balls...
His next shot he made two balls at once, and was perfect on the 9!
Full game, all balls down in three shots!!

I would be even more impressed if he made 2 balls on the break and then 6 balls on his next shot. :)

My usual break knocks in about 3. I've pocketed the 9 ball 4 times in a row and broke and ran the last game in a race to 5. How I made it that many times gets me. Must of been my lucky day.

There is a match on youtube where a pro made something like 4 out of 5 nine on the breaks and the one rack in the middle of it all he had a 2-9 combo. (Something along those lines.) His opponent was steaming.

Also, what's the ruling on the cue ball stopping on the rail? I always thought it was legal for the cue ball to hit the top of the rail and come back onto the playing surface but I have no idea if it is a foul if it stays up there.

Well I can't say I can remember a great break like that, but I did once make the 9 ball on the break 4 times in a row.

I made 6 balls on the break this summer. The 5 ball was straight in the corner, however the 9 ball was frozen square to the rails so I had no shot. I lost the game.

I'd love someone to break and drop 6 on a break and leave me with 2 elementary shots like that.

Use more left english next time to clear the side pocket.
Or hit the cue ball with a pop stroke and it will bounce to right then go forward and hit the rail further back from the corner pocket and increase the angle.

"Don't scratch" covers all the alternatives! Just make the cueball go somewhere else!

I've hit 5 or 6 on a 9 ball break a bunch of times, but I only remember getting out twice. I was always either hooked, rolled safe, scratched or the shot was low percentage. The two times I got out I remember the first shots being cinchers.

Never made 7 or more on any game break and I know I would remember. I did make the break ball plus five playing 14.1 once though :)

If you average three balls on the break, I would say thats the best in the world.

You must have hit the crap out of that CB. Most balls I've ever made is 5.

Surprisingly anytime I've hit what some call monster break (27-30 mph) I make less balls than when I tone it down to 19-22mph and hitting the rack just as square at both speeds.

I can't speak for 10 ball since I haven't checked what speed works best. One day I wanted to see how hard I could break 9 ball. I started at 25mph and three racks later I cracked 30mph 5 racks in a row with decent cb control. The problem was that I actually broke dry once and made one ball the rest except one where I made two.

About 18months ago, I posted my best BB break...6. Little Joe Villalpando had to swing by to see if I would got out (that's his legs in the pic)...which I did.

my break is normaly 19-20 miles an hour. strugle to get any more speed. but balls just wanted to sink on that one somehow. :)

With some massive draw and a little left hand on the cue ball I bet I could sink the 7 in the corner and suck the cue ball back off the rail .. across the table and make 8 ball in the side in one shot. Leave myself on the nine & be out in 3 shots including the break

I hear ya. I've only ever measured my break speed once at a convention thing. I got 3 breaks and all were over 30mph, 30.6mph being my best. As for my normal speed...I don't know. I got 3 chances so obviously I'm going to smash the crap out of each one!

When I break at my normal speed I do make more balls. Well not more balls, but I make atleast 1 consistently. Besides, when i try sending the CB into another country it either bounces above my head height and off the table, I miscue, don't hit the 1 solid or put too much follow on and the angle I break from makes the CB in the corner.

But I've got to take my hat off to the OP, never seen anything like it.
