My cue collection has been stolen high reward

I am furious and sad to report that my collection has been stolen while I was out of town I am offering a large reward for the return of my collection, or information leading to person/s responsible. The following cues have been stolen.

1. 1965 Palmer model 5 cue made from a Burton Spain blank. (This cue belonged to my grandfather Don Willis at the end of his hustling days it is only one of three cues i have of his and the only two piece cue)

2. Two Motteys from his pre-scrimshaw days six total shafts.

3. A Gus Szamboti, and two Barry Szamboti's second owner on all three cues.

4. A rare Balabuska sneaky pete with 3 original shafts

5. Two Gina cues from the first part of Ernies career before he retired.

6. A Tad that is in need of refinshing

7. Two High end McDanials

8. A Bluegrass with 5 shafts

9. Two Black Boar "catalog cues"

10 One unique and three LE Schons

11. Four SouthWests including one Jerry Franklin era

12. Two JossWests from last year

13. One Kershanbrock that seen lots of play.

14. The following guns: Thunder five revolver, .454 Casull, AK-47 from Vietnam, Franchi-spas "street sweeper" 12 gauge, Vintage Colt peacemaker, .40 S&W, Tec-9 with extended clip, Collectable over and under 10 gauge, two .357 Rugers.

15. Two vintage Rolex watches, a Morvant watch, my mothers wedding ring, my grandfathers pocket watch (Don Willis), two womens tennis bracelets, a set of diamond earrings, home stereo, and six gold necklaces.

By the way, did they break into your safe? Sounds like someone who may have known you had all of that stuff in the house.

If you have any pictures it would help, I will notify some of the Pool Halls here in Columbus to be on the look out.
 
You came to the right place. When those idiots try to sell your stuff, one of us will spot it. Hang tough, you got the AZ team on the job. I'd rather be in your shoes right now than theirs...they done tugged on Supersman's cape.

this aa a 'sticky' in the wanted/for sale section so we can refer to it, and keep an eye out for these items on Ebay.

Man, you had some really nice cues.

You might also try posting notices of "lost" cues around the neighborhood. Make sure they are highly visible and offer a sizeable reward ($500?).
Put NO QUESTIONS ASKED on it. You might be surprised what can happen.
Don't be surprised if someone calls you.
 
It is possible that you were picked at random to rob, but it is interesting that the thieves thought the cue sticks worthy of stealing. The guns, though, should capture the attention of law enforcement; a red alert, if you will, which is a good thing in your case.

I would be calling the police every single day, providing whatever help you can, letting them know you're not going away. The squeaky wheel will get greased. Don't let up. :p

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and empathy. It feels horrible to have someone take things that I worked very hard for. Well at least I still have my low end playing cue (no points curly maple schon) and my sidearm .45. I hate thieves
 
It breaks my heart to hear something like this. I had my collection stolen along with my car. I know they had no idea what a Black Boar, or joss was, and I spent days calling every pawn shop in Philly, to no avail....you might try the local pawn shops though...

That hurts like hell; I know it does. I feel for you since I have had a lot of things stolen as well. Look for the jewelry and cues and even the guns at the pawn shop. It is scary that thieves are in possession of more guns. :eek:

Good luck with the apprehension and conviction of the crook(s) and with getting all your stuff back in their original condition. Your family has a legacy in pool and it's a shame some creep decided to steal a part of it. :mad:

My gut reaction is that this is not an isolated incident like kids in the neighborhood. I believe that this is somebody who knows you...someone who knew you had the cues and that you were going to be out of town.

Nobody takes that many cues unless they know what they are...... I'd put my money on someone you know as well...

They will not be able to turn those around for any cash without raising a flag... Best of luck to you, and hope insurance can cover it if anything...
 
If you have photographs- which I hope you do- I would submit them on the board, to you local police and every pawn shop within a 100 mile radius. Color photos are very cheap nowadays and you can send out blanket packets.

Good luck in all of this. I hope your insurance covers some of it so that you can rebuild.

Also, I too would suggest that this become a sticky and post on onepocket.org, billiarddigest.com and the seyberts.com forum

This is like an Amber Alert for cues.

I think I would be curled up in the fetal position for days if that happened to me.

FWIW, I'll keep my eyes and ears open but hopefully this was a local thing and you get them back.

Also, I would consider hiring a private investigator. I hire them in my line of work- most are ex police with police connections. They can find things out and then talk "shop" with your local to get the job done.
 
oh man this is BRUTAL. What a collection to get stolen....my heart goes out to you. I once owned a decent collection as well but I ended up losing sleep over someone robbing me so I sold nearly the entire collection. Really shitty these days that you cant seem to have nice things without constantly being worried someone is going to rip you off.

If you have pics, please post them so we can all be on the look out for these cues. This is way too many super high end cues to be dealt easily, someone will see some of these soon.

In the wanted/for sale section Mike should allow a sticky thread with pics of stolen cues.

I am very sorry to hear this.

I get calls and emails all the time from people trying to sell me cues. I have printed out your list and will contact you if I hear anything.

I think hiring a private detective is a great idea and can get very quick results some times. I would also suggest calling/visiting all the pawn shops, checking ebay (if they were dumb enough to list anything on there) and posting on all the billiard message boards you can think of.

I had my home broken into years back, and similar stuff stolen, and I know exactly how it feels. The thieves could be anybody, really, because the nature of all the things taken is that they can be resold pretty quickly (jewelry, stereo, guns, and cues). Also they can be transported someplace not local with ease...
By your descriptions of the cues, though, they're pretty unique - at least some of them, so this might be your best shot. If you've got pics, AZers can put them in pool halls, and many folks on here deal cues so are somewhat likely end-destinations. I'm certainly willing if you post them.
Finally, and boy it is small recompense I know, you can take a tax deduction for the losses ( I remember doing this with my stuff which never did get recovered). It is nowhere close to getting the stuff back, but might as well take what is available.
