I'll do my best to keep you updated about the goings on here. Got in last night and visited with Pat Fleming of Accu-Stats. Very nice set-up for his TV arena and a nice "black" diamond table. Should make for some great viewing. We'll try to get some of the final Fatboy matches on there. I think everyone who buys this feed is going to be in for a treat. Danny D. and Mark Wilson will be doing most of the commentary.

I like the new set-up for the tournament area as well. More open and spacious, with a better floor plan. Large directories that tell you where the matches and tables are located. Nice! Greg Sullivan always works hard to make this event better each year.

I'm glad I brought my cue. Seems like everyone wants a piece of me, a decrepit and broken down pool hustler. ;) I got in a "friendly" partners Bank game with Harry Platis. Twenty a man. I took John Stravinsky as a partner and Harry took his buddy Mike from Seattle. I came in cold without hitting a ball. All three of them had been warming up for 20-30 minutes. We won the flip and I said the break shot will be my warm up. First game we are down 3-2 and I run three and out. I break in game two, make a ball and run five and out! Triple cool! So I hit 'em with an eight out of the gate. We win the next two games also, and Harry is sharking me like Hell.:smile::smile:

Even for a friendly wager he doesn't want to lose. We play a while longer and I'm getting tired from the all day travel to get here, and finally have to quit about Midnite. John and end up small winners, but I promise a rematch - some day! This is all the bragging you'll hear from me. I have a lot of work to do the next few days. I won't even have time to play in any of the main tournaments, but I will try to play the Bank Pool mini on Saturday night.

I got my first official sign-up for the Fatboy Challenge. Jon Hennessee laid $500 on me the minute he came in. This one's going to be good. I can smell it!

See what I mean, EVERYONE wants a piece! I must look like a sucker.
I need a dance card where I can write down all the names. Derek, I'll try to get you near the top of the list. Okay?
Just tell me the game and the bet, and I'll pencil you in.

Thanks Jay

enjoy hearing about your adventures keep us posted. Looking forward to PPV maybe hear from you as a commentator that would be cool to.

Jay, thanks for the info. Don't whoop those guys too much.

Is Mark Wilson the former (current??) pool pro? It's been about 25 years since I've ran into Mark, but tell him Rich Tefertiller says hello. He likely won't remember me (first met him in Sumter, SC and last at Davenport, IA).

Thanks...

Great first post. Was the Mike Zimmerman? Havn't seen him since he moved to Portland 1 1/2 ago.

Thanks Jay,

from Jay

You let us know if those guys break you and you need $50 for a Greyhound ride home. We got your back!!

Jay,
Thanks for autographing my old Dufferin cue with Bill Incardona today. It was good bringing up my past friend; Bill. See you around the venue this weekend.
Cheers, Mark

Thanks for the inside info Jay. I have put 2G on you to win the banks division. Don't let me down.

Day One - 354 players in the Banks Division! HUGE!

I sweated the Bank Pool ring game with Billy Incardona. It was Brian Gregg, Shannon Daulton, Truman Hogue, Harry Platis, David Fricke and Jet Johnson from Chicago. Billy worked me and worked me to make a bet with him. I reminded him that he ALWAYS loses to me. No matter, he wants some of my action anyway. I end up laying him 2-1 (on 50) and he has to pick the final two players. He picks Shannon and Brian, no surprise. It ends up coming down to those two and Jet. Jet wins it all! 9K! Sorry Billy.

The first day action is slow to take off, as many players are still arriving and a lot of posturing and negotiating is going on. This is normal. I can smell the action that is going to happen before this thing is all over. Alex is here and woofing at everyone, "Sorry boys, I came to take your money. I'm going to have to beat up on all of you again." So subtle . The rumor is Shane will play Bustie again later in the week. The only good game tonite for 4K is Tommy D'Alfonso spotting Nick Hickerson the seven ball. I tried to bet 500 on the side (I like Tommy), no bet. :p

Jon Hennessee made a little score last night and ran up to me and gave me $500 to play in the Fatboy Challenge. He was the first one in. Shane, Bustie, Stevie Moore, Santos, Rodney, Efren, Chris Bartram, Luat, Shannon Murphy, John Schmidt and Beau Runningen all entered today as well. So twelve spots are taken and Johnny and Alex are committed. That leaves only two open spots. Charlie Williams, Shannon Daulton and Dennis Hatch are all possibles for the last two spots unless someone else beats them out. Two words - STRONG FIELD!

It's late and I'm tired. ;)
