Scott, wish I could have stuck aroud & hit some balls with you & dennis. This cue looks even better in person. Congrats, By the way I'd kep an eye on dennis he love how the cue played, I wouldn't let him spend too much time with it. You've worked long & hard on this best of luck.

Congratulations on a beautiful cue but I do have to point out that I believe a "normal" person would have attempted to make a sneaky pete first???

It's Much Better In Person
Any cue made in Dennis Searings shop under his guidance gets the 'S' engraved in the butt cap. The signature is Scott's (notice it's much larger than the D.Searing normally signed on the cues). I had the extreme pleasure to hit a rack of balls with Scotts masterpiece and it performed flawlessly. The cue looks much better in person than the photo's depict. Scott has much to be proud of. This was a once in a lifetime event that should be equated with having a winning lottery ticket. To have the genius of a great cue maker like our friend Dennis Searing, guide another wonderful person like Scott by the hand and allow him to fulfill his wildest dream is a wonderous event that I was priveleged to witness from time to time. Scott, thinking about how you must have felt when you finished your masterpiece makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. You did yourself proud my friend. PaulTim said:

Flying off the lathe
Actually everything went along real well....there are approx. 800 plus inlays in the cue and they do take time.
Preparing the cue for painting and the actual painting and sanding and buffing was one of the greatest challanges of many for me. Truth be told....prior to this I couldn't hammer a nail in straight.
I was very fortunate to have Dennis as my teacher.

Good question. That could happen on any cue by any cuemaker.
Dennis personally signs and dates only the cues that he personally builds. Every cue that is made in Dennis' shop has the "S" logo in the butt sleeve.

Hey Scott, The cue looks beautiful and so much better with finish. Butt sleeve decor looks well balanced. I also like how the veneer colors work. The nicest dice cue I've seen yet.

I began construction on June 24, 2006 @ 10:15 am and finished April 22 2008 @ 7:43 pm. All I can say is what a wonderful adventure. I had like no craftsman skills in the beginning....Dennis taught me step by step and explained what to do and the rest was in my hands.
Initially I was going to build a four ebony point flat faced Ivory jointed cue and it just began to evolve into my Dice Cue. It is Lucky # 7, all inalys are one and six in the cue.
All white in the cue is Ivory and the silver is pure silver.
The forearm has an ebony remill and three veneers. I went with three shafts with matching joint caps and medium Moori tips.

Dennis made all of this possible and his encouragement and support was amazing. I am very appreciative of Dennis letting me do this in his shop and his guidance and friendship.

Dennis you are the man,the myth,the legend.
Oh, by the way it plays like.......awesome, moves the cue ball like real great and the hit,feel and action perfect for me, the Ivory joint has a real nice soft smooth hit and crisp at the same time.

Besides, it's not like the cue can never be identified. If anyone ever stole it, it would have to be put in a vault, never to be seen by human eyes again. Dennis is the only cue maker whose signature requires a 10 power loop to read.
