My garage renovation (Pics)

I know we all like to see personal billiard rooms get built, so I figured I'd start posting pics of my renovation in progress.

It should be done in another two weeks or so, and will be ready for Glen to deliver my Diamond Pro/Am next month.

Of course, I won't be coming back from Iraq until most probably next May or so... but them's the breaks, I guess..

Picture 1 is the A/C guys replacing the A/C unit and connecting the new one to the garage, which will be fully cooled/heated after the door is closed off.. Notice the uneven floor.

Picture 2 is after the concrete guys came in an poured concrete to bring the entire floor up to the same level..

Pictures 3 and 4 are after the garage door has been removed and the concrete blocks have been put in place, framing the future windows. Which will be covered with heavy drapes, because like any decent poolplayer, I am like a vampire and allergic to sunlight. The windows are just there so the renovation will look somewhat normal, instead of where someone just walled up their garage..

I will update this thread as my wife takes more pictures during the renovation..

Enjoy!

Russ

Here's the second pic. Did I mention I hate AZBilliard's attachment system?

Russ I did the same thing and it has been like living a dream. I did all the work myself and saved a ton of money. Take care of yourself in iraq.

Cheers,

Nice room Russ. I'd relocate the hot water heater outside.

I wish our garage looked like that. Hell, I wish my wife would let me make our garage look like that!!:D

Looking very good indeed, Russ. Keep the pics coming!

WOW...Very nice start and looking forward to the end results.
Take care of yourself and praying for a safe return.

looking forward to more pics :)
looks like ukk have plenty of space there.

greats, from the also-alergic-to-sun poolplayer

Looks like it's going to be a great room! Certainly big enough!

Kind of handy having the electrical panel right there in case you need to add something such as supplemental heating or cooling.

Yup... We've currently got the General Contractor looking into pricing/feasability on this....

They are the NUTZ, Russ. I bought this one off E-bay for $200 and have loved it. It only runs when you use the hot water. It is 110v but it does draw 54 amps so you will have to go with a 60amp breaker. It puts out pleanty of hot water and never runs out. Best of luck with the room. It looks great.

Looks nice Russ. A couple of things I wonder about when seeing a garage conversion. Don't you have a basement that could be converted and where does all of the garage stuff go now?

I'm not sure many houses in Florida have a basement.. And we bought a shed for the back yard to put everything in.

That's a nice room in the making. What are you going to put on the walls?

BTW, those Titan tankless water heaters are new, made in China and I'm going to buy one and try it out at the fishing camp. A couple of other people have already purchased them although I don't know how durable they are. You should be concerned with the size of your house and the heated water needs that you have. Titan makes a couple of different types of water heaters as do many other manufacturers. The prices vary GREATLY and it seems that there is a lot of sales spin put on the savings that can be obtained. You could easily move the water heater outside and attache a water closet to the back of your house (metal shed) enclosing the water heater. Here in Louisiana it is VERY common to have a metal water closet attached to the back of your house. Not a lot of heat loss and you can always wrap them if you choose.
I'm going with the Titan because it is cheap and the fishing camp won't be used regularly like a traditional house.

$Bill, how long have you had the Titan tankless water heater?

You know I love ya, Joey but you are WRONG. The Titan is made in the USA. I have had mine for just over a year and love it.

I love being proved wrong. I could have sworn I read made in China. That is GREAT news.\
Thanks,
