Just loves cues...

Hello everyone!! Hope you've had a great start to the new year... I've been ewwwing and awwwwing everyone's cues since I joined last June of '10. So many beautiful cues out there and some very lucky owners LOL...a few of you come to mind...

Anyways, started collecting cues about 6 months ago, after finding pool again after a 15yr hiatus from the felt. Man, a lot has changed in the cue world since 90...Lots of makers out there. My daily player back in the late 80's was a Philippe...and before that was a Muecci, Joss, and then a Schon, so I've shot with a few makers over the years....mainly production...until now :D

Here are a few humble shots of what's in the stable...

There are so many cue makers I'd like to try...so there's more to come!
Well I hoped you all enjoyed peeping... It's a humble start, and I'll update as we move along :)
Thanks!!
Clint

Hi Clint:

Very nice collection of cues. Who made that Cocobolo cue (second cue in in a couple of the photos)? Also, who made the snakewood cue. Please advise. Love that pfd cue. Thanks, Mike

Hey Mike :)
The cocobolo cue is an Andy Gilbert jump break...nothing fancy but serves its purpose on the table....it is pretty under the lights...;)

The snakewood cue and the ebony and amboyna are both Al Bautista's work...great player's cues... The snakewood cue is mainly for my friends to use that don't have a cue, but know how to handle a stick and have a passion for playing... where as the 8 pointer is one of my main players...

Apprerciate you saying hello!...and always a pleasure doing business with ya! Loving the new Kikel, breaking in the shaft and trying to get used to the very stiff hit, it's a great cue......

Hey buddy, not bad for 6 months. 1 cue per month. Thanks for sharing and looking for more this year. Happy Shooting!

You snuck in on me buddy!!!
Many thanks to you Al...your cues are very special, and I can't wait to get the new one from you...yep, really excited... I had an older Pinoy gentleman(In his late 60s, early 70s) come up to me about a month ago at the billiard club admiring and wanting to hit a few with the 8pointer. I let him run ball after ball effortlessly, and when he handed it back...all he could say was very nice, very, very nice... It gets comments from everyone...and I love the way it feels. Great cue...

Looking forward to that next pm LOL...Cheers Al!!

Clint, welcome to AZ and that's a nice collection of cues you have going....congrats !! Love your avatar, too.....I have fond memories of summers during high school when I worked at Chattanooga Bakery, where Moon Pies are made. :)

Sean

Hello Sean!! Glad to bring back some fond memories for you... Chattanooga is a special place, I love how the mountains overlook downtown...and well, I like moonpies too :D After working there...Do you still enjoy a moonpie and peach soda?

By the way, love your site... That pink ivory Gilbert is the nutz, and has my name all over it!!...along w/the Prewitt and many others...there's just never enough money... Great selection of offerings...

Some nice thoroughbreds in that stable. The KQ is my fav. Is the forearm purpleheart or bloodwood?

Thanks Birdseye...it's purpleheart. The pictures show it a little "light"...It's actually a little darker and more vibrant under better lighting. I don't even like purple really, but this cue looks fantastic in person...
Thanks for your comments...

I know what you mean about purple. The Perry Weston cue in my avatar has a dark purpleheart forearm, love it. I didn't care for purpleheart cues until I got it. Go figure........

You are off to an amazing start Clint! All beautiful in their own right. Hard not to love anything from Ernie...

Thanks for sharing,
Chris

Thanks a bunch torqiet and Chris... I've had to take a break from posting and such, just needed to focus on other things for the last few months. Like work and getting my head back in focus...LOL!! Billiards and cues are a hobby for me...not my bread and butter, nor my obsession, so a little time off of the forums and the table has done me a world of good... I didn't hit a ball for about two months, and just recently started playing again and loving every moment like starting over...Sometimes a break from things is all you need to back in the saddle and enjoy it more than ever :)

Anyways, I've received many pm's asking about the cue in my sig... It's the Al Bautista Celtic cue!!! 60" Amboyna and ebony with silver knot work and crosses. It's lovely in person...The quality of this cue is fantastic, and it plays even better than it looks...and man, where the hell have I been? This is my first sixty inch cue, and I love the way it feels...Being 6'2" with long arms makes a 58" seem small. So anyway, here's a few pictures...

I've got some more great gear on its way as well....A Zinzola that's coming soon, and hopefully a custom John Barton case as well....also got a killer caramel colored Engles that rigmaster(Good ole Ron ) hooked me up with that is the coolest color Engles I've seen yet!!!
So....the collection builds, only a little slower right now LOL!!
Thanks for your interest...
Clint
