My New Dave Jones Cue

I picked up my new Dave Jones cue recently. This cue has an incredible feel to it, one of the most crisp, solid hitting cues I have ever picked up. All the inlays are ivory along with the joint and ferrules. The handle is Thuya Burl and and the points and butt are ebony. This cue is going to be shown in the color section of the third edition of the Blue Book of Cues. The Blue Book picture shows my cue along with a couple others Dave recently finished that will also be in the Blue Book.

nice looking cue!

Thanks Jeff, the pictures don't really do it justice. I can't play with out being interrupted by people wanting to take a look at it.

Very nice and I like the wrapless handle style of your new cue.

Now that is sweet wrapless cue ..r his q'z high?

The cost of the cue with five points, 40 ivory inlays and ivory in the joint and ferrules for two shafts, was $1,500.00. The quality is flawless and he stands by his work 100%. It doesn't leave his shop unless he feels it is perfect. I was amazed at the quality of his rejects.

Sweet cue. I just checked his site and he makes some real nice looking cues.

Dave

Thanks, I did the design and Dave built it exactly like I wanted it.

Great design! For me, half the fun is coming up with a design in my head or scribbled on a piece of paper and then seeing that design come alive at the hands of a great cuemaker!!

Dave makes a very nice cue. I shoot with one as well... one that I designed myself... but unfortunately I don't have any good pics of it to post.

The first image in Lunchmoney's first post above contains three cues. The top cue (made of ebony, ivory and malachite) was just recently finished by Dave and was made for a close friend of mine. The cue is stunning!... and my good friend absolutely loves it.

I've got plans to have Dave make me another. I'm just about done with the design. Now... to figure out the specifics of which woods to use.

BTW, the cues that Dave has on the banner of his website (and in his Cue Gallery) don't do him justice IMO. His custom work is much better than those cues.

This was my thought exactly. I thought the poster's cue and the other two cues in the first picture were much better than what he has on his website!

Beautiful Cue! Enjoy it. How long did you have to wait?

Less than 4 months. I was able to get things started when Dave was only working on two other cues.

Dave has taken a lot of pictures of his cues that he has built and said that he plans to update his website sometime in the near future.

Wow that cue is awesome... $1500 isnt bad at all for a cue with so much detail. How long was the wait?
