Sorry to tell you, there is no more Reno Open...:sorry:
That sucks! Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on losing weight besides eating less? Looks like you did a great job getting your weight down.

Now that my children are out of High School (second time around) I'm going to get in shape and practice more pool. At 55 years old I can't afford to weigh 250 pounds anymore and I now know it has a direct effect on my pool game.
So my goal is to lose weight and play in more Open tournaments in the Pacific NW. I might even play in the Reno Open if I get a chance in the next year. I figure I have about a 7 year window where I can still play competitively and see how good I can get.
I lost 39 pounds in around two months by
-cut out sodas all together
-no red meat
-work out 4-5 days a week with 45-60 mins of cardio per day
-have a cheat day once a week where you eat what you want but still stay away from sodas
Thats some of the things I did to lose weight and it really helped my game as well as my self confidence
Hope this helps
It not about eating less, its about eating right... and that CAN be good foods too. Ive been on a diet/workout plan now for 39 days, lost 23lbs... much more to go!
On top of everything, I think you have to be obsessed with losing weight for it to have a chance to work. If you are, it not too hard. Just focus your mind.
Eat carbs that are only whole wheat.. and try to stay away from them in the evenings and nights. Eat more protein than anything.. grilled chicken, fish, turkey breast. Sugars are bad. Fruit is good, but only small portions once in a while. Its loaded with sugar. Eat a larger breakfast than you do dinner. Eggwhites & oatmeal are great for breakfast. Throw some non-fat cheese on the eggs and a little garlic powder. It will taste great. Try to keep your portions of food around 6oz. Oh and work out a little everyday. Run around the block, jumping jacks, situps/pushups, get some dumbbells, whatever... Just do something more than what youre doing now on top of eating right. If you stick with it, you will see a change quickly. Ive NEVER been able to lose weight and thanks to some advice from Donny Mills and a strong desire for change, Im on my way to a new wardrobe!
Thank you for the advise. My wife and I are changing our eating habits and becoming more concerned about how and when we eat. I sit behind a desk all day and when I get home I'm am tired.
The ironic thing about me being tired is because I'm overweight by about 60 - 80 pounds and carrying all this extra weight at 55 years old is wearing me out during the day. I'm sure if I can walk a couple of miles each evening and do some LIGHT weightlifting it will take the weight off and I won't be tired after work. I just need to motivate myself to do it.
