My Table Problem: Cushion Help II

OK, now we're getting somewhere...LOL Rails started out with K55 profile cushions to begin with then some dumbshit decided to replace them for what ever reason with K66 profile cushions which is why the measurement across the cushion from nose to finish of the rail is 1/8" short of being 2". So, in the process of switching the cushion profile over, he knew the nose of the cushions was going to be to high, so he carefully recut the bevel of the sub-rail to less of a down angle like about 18-19 degrees but did not cut the sub-rail back at the top where the cushion flushes up with the sub-rails, as that would have for sure widened the playing surface, only problem is...with the back of the K66 cushions starting out at that thick of a subrail combined with a 1 3/8"ths nose height the result is very fast playing cushions, banking short, and bouncy cushions...which will all become worse and worse as the cloth breaks in and wears even more.

Glen...tell me something.....if you know all this info on rail...and you are right.... In which you are.....then why in the world would you do the same work on the diamond 7' bar tables in Philly,Pa....that someone did to this guys rails in this pic posted?
Maybe after you told me what you did to the tables in Philly....and I told you that's you can't do that and the reason why......the same answer you just gave this guy. Your the rail guy...Right

You really should get your facts straight, or in your case...the lack of facts before you start running your mouth Mark, that's why you have no idea as to what you're talking about....and I know...I know....a rail build off...yeah, if only it was worth my time, but its not.

It's to bad you don't know what you're talking about....sad, just sad:rolleyes:

I'm going to let Al Tenelli from Philly get it straight for you....they were his two diamond tables. No more need said until he posts.

Then we'll see who knows what their talking about.

Glen.....don't knock my prices and run your mouth....trying to start something again....just cause you charging 500 to steel plate joint slate....when wicking the slates and super glueing them works just fine with no problem what so ever.

If someone ask about cushion or rail work....give them your offer....but don't speak for me...or my prices.
But you are right about one thing for a change...I'm the best rail and cushion guy on AZ Billiards for sure.

Just be a man and offer your services. The same as Donnie just did...I have no problem with someone offer to do work for someone.

500 to steel plate joint a slate.....talk about high prices...WOW....and what a waste of money.

Mark Gregory

Once again Mark, if you're going to talk out the side of your mouth, at least get the facts straight. I charge $300 to install the Diamond leveling system along with another $250 to steel plate the slate seams together, Mark....that $550 total, and something you'd be lost on if you ever tried to do the same on your own....because it has nothing to do with rails...LMAO

Right on buddy, can't wait....and while your at it...ask him how much he paid to have the two Diamonds worked on while you're at it....I almost didn't even work on them...so, post up.

So then, I guess if Al don't post, can I take that to mean that you're just acting like a cry baby? Instead of all this BS coming out of your mouth trying to.make me look bad, why don't you just pay attention to your work, so you don't screw up anymore feather strip dados on rails....and work on being the best YOU can be Mark. Life is to short to play these games, you have nothing to gain by attacking me....nothing what-so-ever! But if you think you're making AZ a better place by continuing to attack me, then by all means....keep it up....for as long as it lasts!

I wasn't responding to you're BS in the Mark and Glen thread for a reason, because I'm not playing your games, now you come and hijack this thread with your BS....is that what be a man means to you?

Well you just answered for me....you did the work like I said and ruined the 7' diamond tables..now they take balls from anywhere on the table....you lost all the shelf depth...and the league players don't even like them....that's what Bobby told me...and his word is very good.....has no reason to lie.

And as far as me not knowing how to do anything but rails.....who do you think came up with the leveling system diamond uses.....I told diamond I came up with that system for Brunswick tables....it don't work on diamonds....there's no foundation for the shim to rest against on a diamond like there is on a massive GC frame.

Your the desperate one....I do rails for customers that I can't get to....and when I do rails for customers that I can get to....I redo the complete table....with no problems ever.
You keep saying I can't do tables.....lmao
Because...before you met me....all you were able to do was tell people how to level a frame....and level the slates.
Everyone's been doing that for a 100 years before you....why would they need you to tell them how?

Now...everything up until the last few days that I've been on your ass....was all about rail work for the last 5 or 6 years since you met me.

I don't mind if you show people or tell people how to do something.....just tell the truth when it's not your idea....like I've told people I have learned from you and plenty of others that I've met since I've been a member on AZ.
I don't know it all....and never will....but if someone shows me something.....I'm not up set that I have learned something from someone else.

There's a lot of things on pool table I could still learn....I never acted like I know everything.....so stop trying to act like I can't do tables...have I made mistakes....absolutely....and will make more tomorrow.....but before I'm finished with what ever it is I'm working on.....I will most certainly correct it before I'm done.
You really do have a problem....but I could fix it for you....just shut your mouth for a day or two....and you'll see how it starts to get better....it's called EGO

I thought you were going to show proof that I was kicked out of Kick Shots because I couldn't level a Diamond table there....where's THAT proof? I guess at least ONE of us knows what we're talking about....like I said, I've never been to Kick Shots, nor kicked out of somewhere that I couldn't level a pool table.......so, I'm still waiting on this proof...as you claimed you could prove:rotflmao1::grin-devilish:

Bobby DeTurk can't post on AZ cause of computer problems....but he will...and like I said...he goes to that poolroom....so look for it soon as he can post.....I'm not stalling....just waiting on Bobby to post.

Stop starting it Mark, and we'll get along just fine...just like in the old days, when we didn't know each other;)...you CAN'T build tables to play better than I can, nor can I build tables to play better than you can...so, just drop this BS and get back to work...agreed?

Say your sorry and I'll stop..

OK Mark, I'm sorry...but the next time I come vist your ass, I don't want to hear anymore of this BS....agreed?

Could someone explain what just happened to my thread? Seriously just looking for some help so I can get back to playing some pool in my garage.

Your thread just got hijacked by two of the best pool table mechanics in the world. They are both amazing at what they do, but have such inflated egos that they can't stand to just answer a question without poking at the other guy just a little. One guy senses the poke and can't be the bigger man and just let it go. One will feel personally attacked and provoked and can't stand not to retaliate, so they end up name calling and trying to call out every wrong thing the other guy might have done. Welcome to the Mechanic section. There's an amazing wealth of knowledge and talent here if you can't sift through the childish, egotistical bullshit.
