My trip with mosconi cup team

Good stuff John.

See, this experience has already made the team bond, get stronger and set in motion, the preparedness that will be necessary with months of training.

Good luck with being one of the Top Picks. I sincerely believe that Team USA will benefit from yourself being one of the older players, someone that your team mates can look up to for guidance and your proven ability over the years.

Yeah, Schmitty IS getting old.

I'm so happy for the team and appreciate that J. Schmidt took the time to write us.
However, and with much respect to him as a person, it's such a shame to see his poor writing skills.

All of you know I advocate for better English, and I try to help by spreading knowledge as delicately as I can.
And I would be the first to accept someone pointing out my own mistakes, in that same respectful way.

It's just a shame to me that we complain about people gunning each other down, people crossing our borders,
and our politicians not representing our needs, but come on! We have to start with ourselves! If we don't start
focusing on what's REALLY important—like our language—then we're in trouble as a country. Get better, everyone!

Go Team U.S.A!!

John has posted about this in the past, and has asked the forum to forgive his posting style. Most of us already did so, gladly, a long time ago.

Most folks are happy to have him interacting with us here, and aren't terribly concerned about his grammar.

John, thanks for sharing your experience with us. It is appreciated. I hope you continue to update us as this adventure continues.

Good luck!

Do you play pool as well as you criticize?

You're comparing people being gunned down with somebody misspelling words and then suggesting that, in comparison, people being gunned down isn't what's really important. That might be the stupidest thing I've ever read on Azbilliards and I'm a regular in the NPR subforum.

May you be eaten by a goat and shit off a cliff.

Thanks John for the update. This is a unique approach to the Cup. It's going to be very interesting to follow. Best of rolls, and I hope more posts are forthcoming.

English was always my best subject while attending Institutions of Higher Learning.

At one time, I used to teach ESL. There are times on AZ, that I tease a bit and correct spelling mistakes. It is hard to resist being the Spelling Police some days. I try to do it in jest.

But, it is with old age that I have actually forgot how to spell correctly at times also.

Thank God for Spell Check.

I really didn't see anything wrong with how John worded his post. Maybe I really do suck at English more than I thought.

But for the most part, it is exactly that, we can glean the Thought and Intention from a members post and ignore the rest, that makes the big difference.

I understand that there are more such team USA training trips to come. Are locations and dates already determined? If so, would someone please post the info or a link to said info. thanks

Thank you so much to match room sport and partypoker.com. Without them this trip was financially unavailable. Also great job to captain mark Wilson and assistant captain don Wardell. Trip could not have went better. The team bonded, met Amir pishdad legendary decorated Seal and toured the SEAl compound which is basically impossible to see unless somebody goes thru a million hoops which mr pishdad did for us. Then we raised 1800 for disabled vets under the guidance of captain Wilson. In closing I believe this is the best country in the world by far and it was a huge honer to see in person the great men and woman who protect my way of life . I think I speak for the whole team when I say thank you sincerely to the people who made this trip possible. Namely matchroom, partypoker.net, mark Wilson , don Wardell , and especially Amir pishdad. I'll never forget it.

Sir, I most humbly submit that your posting this was a mistake.

Thanks for the Support and the Update on the USA Mosconi Players

I just watched the Video of Tor and Mark Wilson talking about the formation and Marketing of the USA Mosconi Cup Players.

It is sad that such a small collection of financial backing has been acquired for the USA Mosconi Cup Team.

Hopefully with the restructuring and refocus of the USA team, prompted and directed by USA Mosconi Cup Captain Mark Wilson, the support both financially and interest-wise will continue to grow and will allow the players to train and blend into a cohesive and talent-packed group.

I see the followers of the World Snooker Championships for this year topped 300 Million. Imagine if we could get all of the big Multi-Million Dollar big sponsorship companies to get on board with Pool, like the rest of the World has with Snooker.

If they can find the right marketing mix, finally we could have a Professional Pool Tour that financially compensated the players for their time and skills.

We'll see, but I hope the Mosconi Cup is a catalyst that sparks Pools growth in the USA and the World, not just the players, but the spectating WORLD!!!

Good luck and all the best, 2014 MOSCONI CUP, USA and the WORLD

Platinum rule....... Treat others as THEY want to be treated.

Okay so John spots you 80 to 100 in 14.1 and you spot him
8 to 10 in spelling. :)

Fatz...Listen to the interview with Mark Wilson, on Tor Lowry's site. PINKLADY provided a link to the interview, in the other Mosconi Cup thread. There's also a thread started by Sloppy Pockets...
