Let us know what name you picked and good luck to you with the poolroom. Johnnyt

CERTAINLY WILL, AND WE REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP WITH THE NAME. THANK YOU FOR WISHING US LUCK. HOPEFULLY WE WON'T NEED IT THOUGH.

My wife and I were talking about this just last week. We'll never open our own pool hall so you can have our favorite name that my wife came up with...

Banker's Hall

Good Luck!! :p

Freshman Billiards
Sophomore Billiards
Masters Billiards

Or a pic for a name, have the symbol for man and woman…so “symbol” & “symbol” Billiards...

this gets my vote

Study Hall

The Library

Imagine some collage kids saying... " Lets go down to the Study Hall." or Im heading to "The Library." It works! :D

A couple of names to be found in The Great White North:

The Academy of Spherical Arts

Le Scratch - it has several locations

Room Name

Not to rain on your parade, but I don't see how an 8 table room without liquor can make it. I would think that 16 tables would be the minimum in order to create the cash flow needed, without other sources. Even at $25.00 an hour on your busiest night, your place better be full a lot. Does anybody out there know of a sucessful room with 8 tables?

To attract college students, something funny with a double entendre seems best, like maybe "Nice Rack" or "Free Ballin'" or "Blue Ball Billiards" or "The Stroke" or "Big Stick Billiards". If you're worried about turning off families with sexual double meanings, then maybe it's not such a great idea, but how many families really go out to pool rooms anyway?

On that note, how about, "Felt up".

(I know it's cloth but I thought it was funny anyway) :D

Why don't you tell us a little bit more about his poolroom...........

How much is the lease? Is there one or is the building bought and paid for?

Is he selling food and drinks? High end or low end snack foods?

How about a pro shop? Is he going to sell any cues or accessories???

Please, enlighten us.

 ..... I think your kiddin yourself if you think you can make a go of it without alcohol and food!? It will depend on your area -- and how deep your pockets are but, my 2 cents is that you need to offer as much as you can.....diversify your potential revenue streams ;)

Last but not least SHOOTERS you can have a shot glass with an 8 or 9 ball rack on it neonstyle!

I also think you should consider having at least 12 tables!!!
