Name the New Club and Win a Cue

Sheesh, Fred. I was only pulling your leg. Since you and I have had several PMs about punctuation topics, I thought you'd enjoy a chuckle. A few years ago, I even asked you about comma placement, as I was unsure. Sorry if I offended you. That was definitely not my intention. It was my off-handed way of adding levity to the thread, which seems like I totally failed. I apologize. :(

My bad Jennie. I tried to PM you!

I read your sentence over and over and I was thinking you must have been joking. Too subtle for me, my dear.

Freddie <~~~ overly edgie

Ah, whew! Thank you, Fred. I feel better now.

While on the topic, though, since you gave me a Get Out of Jail Free card, how would you punctuate that? It just came up in a document I'm working on; thus, the reason for my inquiry. ;)

Example A: Fred gave me a Get Out of Jail Free card.
Example B: Fred gave me a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Example C: Fred gave me a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.

Which sentence? The comma-but-comma sentence?

Okay, you told me which sentence. It's a common enough term so A is sufficient. If you were introducing a term that the reader might not know, then C would be more appropriate. Making it a title is correct because it's specifically a title from Monopoly.

I guess I better contribute a name to Jim Wych's new pool room, since I injected a thread drift. :o

No, silly! Example A, Example B, or Example C, with the Get Out of Jail Free card. :grin-square: Which of the below-referenced examples do you like best? :)

Example B: Fred gave me a get-out-of-jail-free card.
Example C: Fred gave me a "Get Out of Jail Free" card

I could be wrong but I thought Wych was pronounced "why-AITCH"?

(also a terrible name for a business)

DOUBLE JAYS CHALK SPORTS Club

The company logo should incorporate a billiard rack and sticks.

the double Jays works off the owners first initials AND the extra hits they will get in advertising because of the toronto blue Jays.

Chalk works because it can be a reference to pool chalk, but also it is a known sports gambling term.

Let me know when you are sending the cue and I will provide my address.
