Name the New Club and Win a Cue

Skeller in the Cellar. Rathskellers are typically in the cellar of an old building.

That's because "keller" means cellar in German. Rathskeller (Ratskeller) is the basement of the town hall. Often it is a meeting hall that's turned into a restaurant.

Freddie <~~~ kinda like saying that haricots verts are typically green

Yes Freddy, I was fully aware of that when I posted.
Why I posted that a Rathskeller is typically found in the cellar of an old building. You should get in the habit of actually reading posts.

So, kind of like a Double Nintendo. Rath probably meaning, Bar, Skeller, probably meaning Cellar.

So a double play on words, rhyming meaning more than anything. Yer not supposed to read into it more than that it just rhymes. Skeller in the Cellar.
Of course its in the cellar, its a Skeller.

I had a friend that named his cat Zeller. Zeller from the Cellar, because the cat lived in the basement.

Once, a guy told me that he really liked Jambon Hams. I had to tell him that Jambon was french for Ham.

You know what I mean, but seriously, thanks for straightening out an uneducated AZ member here. I appreciate it.

Now, I think I will go and get myself a double chocolate donut before league tonight.

And maybe after, I will do a few rails off the rails before I start playing. But not before I drink an Ale. Or pull a cat by the tail. At a Sale. For whales. While eating Kale. And reading my mail. In the hale. Sitting on a pail. On a bale.

Terry - Thinks that Freddy should stick to his day job. whatever that may be.

Your

Lotta good ones but I like Spheres and Beers. Kind of unique and somewhat trendy.
Not that its up to me or anything, that one just caught my eye.

Well, ya don't want to call it Queers and Beers. I'm sure TO has a few of those already.

Ales and Rails also finds itself into that trendy Rhyming mood. Say the word beer, or Ale to a college student and it has 2 different meanings. Good one.

Bankers Hall lends itself well to a more sophisticated name. Great for either a hall or a sports bar.

Don't mind me, I'm just having fun saying these ones to myself and seeing how pleasing they are to the ear. As far as I know, a name should stick with you just like a little jingle will.
Your my kinda guy Blue Hog, you have good taste.

Touchy, touchy. THere was nothing that suggested that you knew the word Keller (as opposed to Skeller) meant Cellar. I thought I was pointing out something you may not have realized … you know… since you said Skeller. It has nothing to do with being educated.

It might have something to do with my day job. Insulting me isn't exactly pleasant. But, please if you must.

Freddie <~~~ Rat is for "Meeting" or "council". I'm sure you'll tell me you knew that, too.

Not touchy at all Freddy. Just seems that you like to follow my posts lately and toss in little barbs.

And no, I had no idea that Rat meant meeting place. I assumed that if Skeller was German for cellar, that Rath was a bar. Thanks for that.

Pretty good of you to correct me tho, considering that the above quote is pretty much verbatim from Wiki. Maybe you didn't know in the first place and had to check it for yourself.

Terry - Obviously not as smart as Freddy.

Freddy speaks more than one dialect of German, Terry....
...that was established in a 'how to pronounce Schon' thread.
...but this could be fun for the rest of us...have at 'em.;)

I hope they don't call it 'Crack The Rack'.......
....Rob Ford will wanna be at the opening.....:o

it could be worse. I could have you on my ignore list. Or maybe that would be better? I'd rather read your posts.

I try my best not to reference Wiki. It's full of errors from hacks.

I wasn't trying to correct you. It just struck me funny, so I wrote something. Maybe it's because I know something about the German language but in my mind, what you wrote read like this:

basements are typically in the cellar.

Apparently it was just funny to me.

Freddie <~~~ will now have some Shrimp Scampi with some Jambon Ham

Full of salt but tasty on bread. :barf:

The Jennie-good ham may be salty, but, if prepared correctly, may be ambrosially delicious. :grin-square:

[no comma after "but" unless followed by a prepositional phrase]

JAM <---hopes to see less commas after Fred's but (with one "t," of course)

University Pool School

Ups for short. As in "I'm going down to ups."
Or when answering their phone..... "This is Ups. Come on down."

Jim and Jen

Hey, are you "Jim and Jen" from Maryland?

ETA: I just read your post history. You *are* Jen and Jim from Maryland. ;) I just learned from Tom-Tom that Little Petey passed away a few days ago from a brain aneurysm. Little Petey on the left.
