need 2 rings to finish a cue

I can't find those thick rings too.
I bought some Butt size to use for the joint side, but, I'm worried that, having an I.D. of .750, it would only leave 1/16" holding on the fit and face
when installed. Kinda too little surface area to "Grab" when cutting that thick of a ring.. That Turning Tool better be "Cutting Butter" , or, the resistance, and the heat created, might break the glue bond and spin the ring and .. SCRAP Material.

No metal rings any more??? How come?

My guess....poor finish(sealer)adhesion and expansion and contraction differences with the rest of the cue.

I know they look cool but they are the biggest pain in the ass you can put in a cue. They will keep the refinish guys busy for years to come.

<~~~this of course is JMHO.................
