Need a Cue

Suprise me. I don't know much about it. I'm a teacher so I don't make a lot of money, but I do okay.

I would try KOINNKID

Send a PM to KOINNKID Troy is fair to deal with and may have some relatively inexpensive cues. I would suggest an entry level Joss or Schon. Hope this helps.

Is there a big difference between custom and production cues? Whcih one should I get?

there are but if you're just starting out it's kind of a waste of cash to buy anything custom. you have to try different stuff and find out what you like. mcdermott makes a decent entry level cue with lots of designs to pick from at a reasonable price

check out seyberts.com like the other guy said

Ditto giving Paul a call at 806-778-1957 or PM on here. He can make one exactly as you want it and has very reasonable prices.

Why do some have wood in the middle and others have metal and what's better?

the wood to wood joints do just what they say they keep as much wood in contact as possable (from shaft to but). while the metal inserts are what's called piloted and from what i've seen with mezz cues being the exception they mostly come with stainless steel joints. i haven't played with one in a few years but from what i understand they're more forward balanced and offer a harder hit

(i know you're a teacher so don't be judging myspelling and grammer)

It's okay I teach bilingual education (kindergarten) spelling errors happen for all of us.
