Thinking about buying a second shaft to use for 3C billiards. What does everyone suggest? Im sure i am about to get 1000 different answers with this question but just thought i would see what the general population thinks.

Thanks
Benji

Well its been a whopping 15 minutes since i posted this. A simple opinion instead of sarcasm could have worked. But thanks.

Point being i read another thread today asking what people think is the best tip and saw seriously 20 different answers so expected the same with this.

I'm unfamiliar with 3C billiards. So I'll have to google. Mean time, what is the joint and what are you looking for in a second shaft?

3C meaning 3 cushion carom billiards. I just starting playing recently and the balls are larger and heavier and english is a big factor so it would seem i need something stiffer and low deflection. My cue is a 5/16x18 joint piloted. Ive seen the cues that are made for this game and they shafts are made with the male end of the joint and the butt has the female end so i know something has to be different about them.

Didn't mean it as sarcasm bro. But I thought you would've had more responses. Can't advise you on 3C though, but I would probably be wrong for advising something similar to a jump cue specs with a soft tip....:frown:

Hmmmm....now that's definitely different. Never came across shafts like those, so I can't even recommend a site to shop at.

This is a typical carom cue. And notice the shaft is shorter then a normal pocket biliard shaft would be.

Maybe one of OB Cues new shafts, that is 13.25mm, would be the ticket. I do know that most 3C cues are stiffer or at least they feel that way.

You might also go to one of the 3C forums & get the info from one of the more knowledgeable players.

Good Luck... it would be great to see 3C make a comeback.

I did post in the Carom section this morning as well. Thanks

Tiger Products is heavily into carom and they've made very good reduced squirt shafts. You can contact them at:

If you see something yuou like, you may be able to save money by contacting Corey Harper by clicking the banner ad attached to my post.

I.

I would look into the OB line I was reading on here earlier how they now have improved their shafts and the new ones are the called the Plus line. Check it out there was some good information on there.
