Hello all,

I'm from Canada and I'm very involve in 9-ball here. All my stuff was stolen, (Just imagine!). Now my assurance company will giving me approx. $3 050,00 for an other equipment: All accessories, Cue case 3x5, breaking, playing and jumping cues.

What do you think about this?

for playing cue:

FIRST OPTION

Playing cue made by Jacoby for predator SE-21 (radial pin) come by default with predator 314-2 or z2. + extra shaft Mezz wd 700 on It.

Price for only the cue is 1700$ + mezz shaft aprox. 200$ = 1900$

SECONDE OPTION:

Mezz cue MI-1 come by default with hybrid shaft. + extra shaft Mezz wd 700 + extension for the but made by mezz.

Price for only the cue : $780.00 + 100$ extension + $200 Mezz wd 700 = 1080$

FOR THE REST:

Break cue: 1- Power break II by Mezz, 2- Sniper or 3- BK2

Jump cue: 1- New air drive by mezz ou Jacoby

Cue Case: Instoke saddle 3x5 or more

THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR ME IS THE QUALITY AND PLAYABILITY OF CUE BEFORE THE CASE AND ACCESSORIES.

THANK EVERY ONE! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Hello and welcome to the forum! If I were starting from scratch with a $3,000 check, I would check the wanted/for sale section of AZB and go custom. Personally, I would look for a Scruggs in the $1,500-$2,000 range, try to find a Gilbert jump/break for $500+-, and spend the rest on a Justis 3x6. But that's just me! Sorry to hear you got ripped off but I'm still jealous of your pending shopping spree. Have fun shopping!

Expert advice for expert player?

One post? and asking others about what you should play with? Can't remember Earl, Efren, Scott, Alex, (you get the point) coming onto a forum and saying I'm an expert player what kind of sticks should I get. Don't you know what you play well with and what you don't play well with?

Can't you look for the same type of cue you used to have or say I used to have this cue and am looking for a similiar hitting cue any suggestions?

What assurance company are you with, I couldn't get my stick insured with car policy and home policy said that it can't be covered under that either.

This is a better option.

Much better!

I have been playing with my schon cue for 17 years and I have tried ALOT of sticks and nothing compared..... UNTIL.... I tried a custom Jacoby my friend had done and MY GOD I have never in my entire life hit a cue like this. If I had a free cool 3g's to get a stick..... JACOBY CUSTOM is the way I would go.

When Keith Josey says Jacoby is making great cues these days thats a good endorsement.

I am insured with USAA and they have a valuable property insurance option. I currently just have some of the wife's jewelry covered with it, but they will cover any valuables like cues, guns, etc. They are a military insurance company/bank, but I am sure other insurance companies have valuable property policies.

Like others have said, I would look into customs. They are mostly one of a kinds, most look and play better than production cues, and most hold their value much better.

Also if you tell everyone what you use to use it could help determine similar playing cue options.

cue choices

go with a custom as opposed to a production cue, you will never look back

lots of reasonable choices out there

Case closed

For your case may i suggest pool's prolific and passionate poster...
..John Barton of J B Cases....

Give an AZer some business

Haha yes sir!

I'm an old school player with Meucci blackdot with moori med. I have to feel the cue when I play. I think the special edition made by Jacoby SE-21 for predator with radial pin with be a better choice of Mezz Mi-2 finaly. I talked to Mika Immonen on facebook and he told me that Mi-2 was better than M1-1. Anyway for the investissement I think is better to chose a custom cue like you said.

I know many cue maker are good reputation like Scrugg, Carolina, etc. but I have only 45 days for reclaiming with my assurance company and I live in Canada so...

What do you think people for this stuff:

Jacoby SE-21 made for predator whith radial pin (314-2 shaft by default but I'll put wd 700 Mezz shaft on it).

Break cue: Mezz Power break II

Jump cue: Jacoby or Mezz new air drive

Thanks again all!

I have to purchase brand new stuff for my assurance company. It's just the the SE-21 cue made by Jacoby I think is not here at AZ but I will take a look. Thanks!

do your shopping right here on az. you'll get way better deals and have more options

I agree with that. Supporting AZB is what all the cool kids are doing. And if you're looking for a solid custom cue, the Wanted/For Sale threads have a ton of stuff to offer. I'd check listings from user FAST_N_LOOSE (among others). He usually has some gooooood stuff for sale, and he's as reputable a seller as you can find anywhere.

Personally

you can buy a $1,300 Schon, get a J&J break/jump cue, buy a good 3 x 5 case, and pocket a $1,000.

FriskyStroke...That's baloney! You will get a check from your insurance company, and can do with it whatever you choose...whether you choose to buy a brand new cue, or a used cue. They cannot specify that you can only purchase a brand new cue. You also do not have to "approve" the purchase with them. I have my cues insured, and when one of them was stolen, I was sent a check to cover the loss. What I did with the check was my business, not the insurance company's!

Thanks and if you want to see the cue SE-21 by Jacoby made for Predator is a beautiful and great specs for playability.
