LOL, I still have the same scuffer I bought 20 years ago; however, I sure am going to try that sharkskin abrasive in the grooves of cutting boards (blood grooves and handles) as it looks like a great solution.

Thanks bbb ;)

Wow, you can buy a two pack of Sharkskin for $18.50. From the size you can cut each in two, then glue them to a wood board. Presto you have four Kamui like scuffers for half the price of one. Kind of like chalk.

I do not see point of gluing to board.

I keep 220 sand paper in coin holder, when it use up I replace with another 2” x 2” piece

Cowboy, my point was a snide comment on the cost of anything Kamui who charges $39.95 for their scuffer, and $27. Chalk etc.

I guess I have a weird sense of the absurd.

not sure i should say
you are welcome
"blood grooves"

LOL, some call it a juice groove. It's the groove around the tops of cutting boards so the blood/juice has a place to go instead of your countertop ;)

Sanding those is a bitch and this is going help, I think ;)

a small piece of sand paper works just fine.

but for years ive had a couple brad cue tip scuffers, they are about ten bucks now and work the best of any ive seen and easy to store and use, for scuffing or even shaping as they are curved.

I used to be an OCD over scuffer..... i have since been reformed by finding the right tips. I haven't scuffed but thrice in as many years.

Which tip(s) do you use, just curious? I bounce between Kamui medium's and Kamikaze Elite's (depending on the stick) and don't have to scuff too much, but I have to scuff more than that so just wondering.
