Need help turning WPC matches into a DVD

Jay Helfert asked me to burn some of the WPC matches onto a DVD for him.
I have a DVD burner and the matches downloaded and I have Windows Movie Maker as my software..

I have never burned a DVD and don't really know much about video in general.
I have burned 1000's of CD's

My questions are:

1. If I get the matches he wants and just tell it to burn them to a DVD will it play in any DVD player, or do I have to do something to change the format.

2. The format of the videos is Windows Media Audio/Video file and I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not these can be viewed by a MAC..

Any other info that I don't realize that I need is appreciated

I would say that burning a dvd is quite easy. However being that they are WMV files, you're going to have to convert them to .vob files which are dvd files or at least to .avi or mpg and then have another program to convert them to dvd. If you have somewhere to host the files privately I will download them and covert them and even snail mail them to Jay if he wishes and you concede to host them.

I was told that the files can't be edited, but I have no idea whether or not it is true...

I will go through them and pick out the ones that Jay wants, and let you know which ones they are... I have already uploaded all the ones that I have to www.Megaupload.com and they are free to download, although they move kinda slow... Thank you

This thread has all the matches just in case anyone didn't get a chance to download them for personal use

I haven't found a match that Jay has commentated yet... Those are the ones that he wants

Jerry Forsythe? has been on most of them... I am still looking though

OK...it is fine...with my cable modem and having a premium megaupload account this shouldnt take me long at all to download all of them. They are already dling and are 40% done at the time of this post. I will work on converting all of them in order and making a full scale dvd. I will then reup them in dvd format for easy burning for anyone who wants them. Just give me some time...lol

Jay, I should have these done in a week or two, and the only reason it will take that long is I leave for Vegas at 3 AM on Sunday for a week for the CES show for business.

Thank you for the help... Str8poolbanger

I still haven't found a match yet that he is commentating on, but I missed alot of matches

all videos have been converted to an .avi format and i will convert them to 1 single dvd tomorrow while doing some framing in the basement.....just might get them done afterall before Vegas....:D

Thanks guys for all your help. I won't be home for ten days. Got a date in Louisville. :)

I use VisualHub for mac to convert and windows media player or VideoLan player to read asf files. VisualHub converts avi, asf, wmv, divx, to dvd and other things. http://www.techspansion.com/visualhub/ Takes about 4 hours to convert four high quality avi (1 gig files) to dvds on my mac mini.

Back to the top guys...sorry...

just wanted to let BPG and Jay know that the DVDs are done finally after re-downloading them. I will be sending them out to Jay tomorrow 2-20-08. Keep an eye out for em buddy.

Is this legal???

Russ, where are you? :D

Roy,

I was hoping to get copies of the matches I did commentary on. Not for resale. I worked on the second TV table, that was a feed mainly for the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Jerry worked on the first TV table which was a feed for Europe, most of Asia and a few other places.

Sky Sports who produced the shows has all the matches in the "can", so they can now show or sell them to networks anywhere (or rerun them). Eventually some edited versions will end up airing in the USA on Fox Sports. They may have already.

I actually worked on some important matches, and I'd love to have copies of these shows. Number one for me to review my own work and number two to show to my family and friends over here.

They think I'm just going over there to chase girls. And we all know that's not true. ;)
