Need help with a purchase I made on AZ

don't gift anybody unless you aren't willing to lose the money to. Paypal funded by a credit card, only way to go.

Moreover, a seller asking you to send money as a gift is a huge red flag that you might be being scammed. Reconsider the sale altogether when you hear that.

Thank you kindly.

if you have better i trader and maybe more posts and longevity you should have the seller mail out the cue first. and payment later on. most wont do it but it would be right.

and these slow cue makers should in no way get a penny until their cue is finished and a pic sent to the buyer. if they are so much in demand they can resell that cue quickly even if it is custom.

if a seller doesnt have a place of business and is just selling out of his home it is no different than buying from someone in the pool room. you look at the merchandise before you buy.

I agree. 35 bucks is nothing.

OP says he learned a lesson...don't gift anybody unless you aren't willing to lose the money to. Paypal funded by a credit card, only way to go.

There are 2 things everybody should have learned here,

#1-never buy merchandise with paypal using the gift option.

#2-never buy a cue from username Marc-(Marc Vidal?) he was clearly dishonest about the condition of the cue then he refused to work with the purchaser of the cue. Oh wait, I forgot, he refunded him $35.00, what exact kind of repair does that buy anyway????

I wouldn't go so far as to say scammed, but the buyer definitely forfeits a lot of rights

So Marc PM me today asking to remove negative itrader. Hell no I will never remove that even if I could. I told him I would update this thread saying he refunded the petty $35 . The ONLY reason I accepted the $35 is that I did pay with the gift option and Marc stated he wouldn't refund the whole amount. I can't believe this guy. I'm shocked he has good itrader. I agree with a member on here, he definitely seems desperate.

When someone won't undo a sale, and the goods aren't as described, it is fraud. Full refund is the only option to maintain any semblance of a good reputation.

It is a shame that your deal went how it did.

As a result of your thread I will never buy anything from Marc.

I wouldn't of accepted the 35.00..
It would have to be a 100% refund or nothing..

The 35.00 you accepted is basically hush money..
You accepted Marc's crumbs now the deal is closed, and both parties appear to be satisfied..

If I didn't get a full refund I would of made sure I posted on everyone of Marc's wanted for sale offerings warning others of his business practices..
The entertainment value would well exceed the 35.00 I turned down..

I hope you have a local cue builder to do the work for you.. If you don't the money you accepted is basically paying for shipping..

Dishonest seller shanked in liver and dies. Air noticeably fresher.

I would like to read a thread with that title on here one of these days.

Purchase on AZ

To whom it may concern,

I shipped a Lomax jump cue made of beautifully figured cocobolo and cork inside to this member called Tampapool something.

The cue rolled straight. And no issues besides little finish off near the joint and some little dings.
This cue was well used, but in good condition, in my opinion.
I had used it for about a year and it jumped very well.

I'm aware these Lomax jump cues are hard to come by, and I had paid $300 for it.

The buyer reduced my asking price to $235. The very same day I received his Paypal payment, I had a buyer willing to pay me $265.
Of course, the sale was already done, so I went on and ship the cue to Tampapool.

The reason why I initially decline to refund Tampapool when he PM me that he was not happy with the condition of the cue, is that I didn't agree with him about the condition of the cue, and I certaintly didn't agree with his judgement of the shaft not being straight.
If the shaft warped a bit in transit or if it felt tot he floor when he opened the package, I do not know that.

As he insisted on getting refunded not only for the amount he paid but for the shipping, I kindly asked him to give me his phone number so we can discuss further.
Obviously, once I asked for his phone number, I was showing that I could be inclined to do a refund.
He ignored me for 3 full days, and ended up not giving me his phone number.
I guess he was too busy bashing me in the main forum...

I followed up to him offering a full refund, but if he could please ship the cue to the adress I would give him instead of to my adress. Reason being, I had already sold the cue to one of the 3 people who had inquire about the cue prior to me selling it to him.

I do not usually ask a buyer to ship the product to someone else, but due to the circumstances of my traveling,I didnt think this would be a big deal.
(Same effort to ship back to me than to ship to someone else)

He replied to that saying that he would only ship the cue back to my adress.

Going by all this lack of cooperation from the buyer I firmly said to him I was not going to refund him for the cue.

Then he tricked me in making me believe that he would remove the bad talking about me on this forum ( I thought he was talking about the negative Itrader he left me, and I even said it clearly to him), but the truth is he never removed anything. Yet he accepted my $35 payment to help with the refinish of the jump cue.

I Paypal Gift that amount to him.

I thought he was going to use it to refinish the cue,but he never did, instead he put the cue up for sale himself and priced it only $10 cheaper than I did, and without refinishing it or anything.

I knew he was a mover from the start.

However, I'm by now sort of ok with the negative Itrader, I was starting to think I was perfect with so many positive ones...

I'm confident not all the deals I made in this forum did my customer was absolutely satisfied, including some shafts or butts who I didnt consider to be so straight, but I had to get rid of cuz someone got me with them first.
This however was not the case, I shipped a straight jump cue!

I am not perfect, but I'm working hard at providing great customer service with all the product I trade and sell.
And I'm hardly ever opposed to a refund, unless I don't find a reason for it.Many times I will post "Final deal" on items I do not want to give the option of a refund.

Tampapool knew I was traveling but he could not wait to roast me in here.

I'm sure if he woulda gave me his number we coulda worked something out where we could have been both satisfied; I was even willing to have Lomax refinish the butt, I know Lomax well and I know he coulda gave me a great deal, and I coulda take care of that cost.

I suggested that to Tampapool just a few days ago, but he preferred trying to get the quick cash for the item with a new thread where he's selling the jump cue.

Truth of the matter is that Tampapool never gave me a chance to talk to him, nor to work something out.

There's always 2 sides of the story.
And mine is not perfect and possibly not 100% right, but it is my view and my decision to have acted like I did.

So I gave Tampapool a positive Itrader, seems like he's a good guy after all and he needed some more positive ones.
Not happy with the way he handled this, but I will let someone else screw him and give him negative Itraders.

End of story as far as I'm concerned

Man...that's pretty brutal right there. Two wrongs don't make a right. You should have taken that up with the person who sent something not as described. If you really do that, I'm surprised your itrader is as good as it is.

Marc;

Upon receiving a cue, if your customer lets you know there's something they're not happy with, you must find out what you can do to make it right, if poss. This should include everything up to and including offering a full refund, right away.

This assumes you are really interested in providing great customer service. ;)

Troubled Sale

I have sold a few things here and have found out that "good", "great", and "excellent" have different meanings to different people. This is why I offer a full refund FOR ANY REASON if you are not happy with the purchase but you do have to pay for the returned shipping.

I have never had a return yet but if a buyer wants to send it back they can. Its not worth the hassle to argue what condition it is in. Simply put not happy send it back.

Just accept refund within 3 days of receipt for any reason....makes life so easy. You lose shipping costs and buyer pays to return ship. ...it's not complicated.

That and describing any and all damage is the way to go.

You made yourself look bad here...

If you're truly interested in providing excellent customer service to your buyer you would never refer to customer as Tampapool something..

To whom it may concern,

I shipped a Lomax jump cue made of beautifully figured cocobolo and cork inside to this member called Tampapool something.

If you don't care or know who your dealing with why should you care or know what your sliding into a postal box..

Marc, come on man. I like you and have only gotten quality tips from you, but this is ridiculous. That cue was clearly not great. Just refund him the $235 and he will mail it back. EBay list it as used and sell it there for whatever it's worth.

This cue is clearly not what it was listed as and should be considered a lesson learned.
