Need help with cue

I recently got a tulipwood Sneakiest pete. I want to use my OB2 on it, but the thing is that my OB2 has a black collar and the tulipwood butt doesn't. I was wondering if there is a way to send the shaft off to someone to get the collar removed to make it a collarless OB2 but keep the diameter? Thanks in advance for the response. I don't have the extra cash to buy another collarless OB2, or else I would've did it instead of trying to alter this one.

I would put a post in the wanted/for sale section to see if you can get someone to swap you, might be a possibility. :smile:

As long as it is the same thread joint pin, you can still use it it will look like it has a joint ,like a fancy sneaky, instead of like a hustler house cue , but if you remove the collar the shaft has been already taken down to put the collar on , does the butt of your cue line up flush and woth no lip where the two come together ? Or maybe someone will trade you ???

Thanks guys. Yes both of them measure to .850 on the joint diameter. So they are flush, maybe I will just have to see if anyone is willing to trade or else, I'd just have to buy another one whenever my school loans come in lol.

Chino, that would not be easy to do, however, you could have the Black Collar removed and have Tulipwood collar added in it place. I have never done anything like this but I think it would work.

Dude, I also build cues and once a cue leaves your shop it is no longer your property, and the owner can do whatever they want to do with that cue. You can send it out and have the collar replaced. That is a very easy job to do. Shouldnt affect any warranty from them as long as you have a qualified person to do the work. Meaning someone that has been in the business and has a good reputation for there work.

It actually bothers me quite a bit, because wanted a sneaky pete and I hate collars on SP. Plus, it doesn't match, like a pair of red pool shoes with neon purple biker shorts while shooting pool, tlaking about a shark lol

Humbly, I think you missed my point. Sure, once a cue leaves the shop, it is then the property of the customer -- I certainly was not hinting at the contrary. What I meant, was for warranty purposes. Granted, I don't know OB's warranty policy, so I could very well be pointing a concern at nothing. But *if* there's some kind of warranty on the product, isn't it an ok question to ask if the modification has any effect on any kind of warranty?

Relax man, my post was certainly meant in the most helpful regard. If it came out funny, well, I certainly won't apologize for making people laugh -- laughter makes one day, doesn't it?

No need for an apology at all Sean, I know you were trying to be helpful but for some reason I found it very funny, maybe it was two much Coffee. I also recommend Ryan all the time to do work for people who contact me, most of the time I am very back logged and don't have time to accept additional projects. Go back and check some of recent post concerning this subject, Ryan was always the first person I named, I have seen his work and it is certainly top notch, I would go as far to say that he has many recourses and much more experience than I do. In reality I am a utter newbie in this field, but I am getting better ever day!!!!!!!!!

You can change the collar to a matching coller (wood) but you can't make it have 'no' collar at this point.

What pin is the shaft for now ?

The pin is a g-10 3/8 10 joint, I am having the cue sent out to Craig tomorrow. Thanks for the help Craig!
