We have a question about the two old Tillis shafts we have up for sale LINK>>Tillis Shafts. They are .790 at the joint and I have a buyer that wants to put them on his old Tillis that is .850 at the joint. He is going to have the rings reworked to match his Tillis joint. Will they be able to make up the .060 at that time. I feel I know the answer just wanted to post this up for him to read and get an answer here. Also what would the cost run to do this?

Thank you very much for your time.

i think is they cut a taper on the rings and get it to .810 then spray the finish a thicker it could get close. i had a similar problem and building the finish got it close

you could cut the butt down to .820" and then build up to that, but i really can't see .060" paint though i did refinish a Mac one time that had over .020" on the shaft.

You would cut the butt down on a Tillis cue?

good point,no i wouldn't.i would probably have new shafts made and save the ringwork.

To maintain the value or at least collectability, I would see if Mr Showman would be interested in making new shafts for the cue, seeing he learned from Mr. Tillis.
