my predator shaft needs a new tip.. ive always shot with a triangle tip, but im told murray med hit very well.

Get an Everest by Tiger. That's what comes on all the new Predator Cues & Shafts.
For that matter, only use Tiger brand cue tips and forget about the rest. Your cue will thank you for it! :thumbup:

I use the poor man's Moori, a Wizard Med. Works great for me.gesan said:

After moori's, Snipers, everests and Wizards, I can say that I've had more luck and less heartache with the Wizards. Medium specifically. It did just fine as used by our whole APA Vegas team in the middle of the pressure packed APA National 8 ball finals.

I would suggest a sniper by tiger, but it would be best if you tried quite a few tips before selecting one indefinately.

Or, stick with a Triangle or the newer LePros. I'm seriously having issues seeing great performance increases from the $10+ dollar tips to the 60 cent tips.

(and hardness) changes from the hair side to the inside.
If the tip is made of one piece of leather, you get a simple progression
from hard to soft. The thin pieces of leather skived for
lamination purposes have these same characteristics but when
you stack them, to get the proper thickness,
the final product is much more homogeneous.
The randomness of grain from layer to layer when compiling
the stacks, which you properly mention, probably also plays a
part in the resulting superiority and performance characteristics.?
I think that, as usual and as expected, he got right to the heart of
the matter.

I have really become a fan of the Wizards. I use a soft right now but have a shaft on its way with a med on it. I was using kamui softs before that but could not locate them when I had my forst wizard done. One thing I have found with the soft is that you need to cut off about the first 2 layers from the top then shape down. The reason being is the tip was too tall and I was getting a lot of deflection and a really crappy hit. Hope this helps
I have a predator 5k7 I believe it came with a Le Pro tip...I go through tips really fast, so i than got a Moori tip & that went even faster..I didn't like it that much...so I now converted to a Tiger Everest & I love the tip, I don't even think i've worn it down at all yet & i've had it for 4 months..it barely mushrooms but I just have to keep it chalked up more than the other tips i've shot with..
This may be old school but get you an le pro with a break pad. PLay with it for about 2 weelks and then get it reshaped.The combo of th tip with a break pad gives you a firm feel with lots of action on the cb. It will do everything and then some for half the cost....=) I haven't been able to get this much action on the cb in a looonnnggg time. Trust me...

I've tried Triangle, Moori-Medium, Kamui Medium and Medium-soft, Everest and Sniper. I'm back to using Moori. Sniper was great...but they are a pain in the ass to install. Everest is also really great! I used to think Kamui was awesome, but then started to get consistency problems.... i.e. the tip hardness changes on you over time. Maybe that's a problem for layered tips in general...but I never experienced that with the other tips yet.
