I have played with it a considerable amount but was just intrigued about what I had bought. And isn't spin etc imparted by the tip, where you strike it etc? Chalk just acts a friction accelerator right?
There's a lot of BS surrounding pre-flag masters and chalk in general,
I can save you a little time here if you're genuinely curious.
• There's a myth that pre-flag masters grips better because it contains lead,
which was later removed for safety reasons. This is mostly false. There was lead in the green
and sky blue versions. The other colors didn't have it.
Sky blue is not the same as the normal blue we're all familiar with.
That color never had lead and the formula hasn't changed.
This info is straight from the vice president of the company that makes it.
• To my knowledge no scientific test has proven chalk spins the ball more.
But it does let you hit further away from the center without a miscue, and further from center = more spin.
Even if certain brands DID spin the ball more, ask yourself if you want to change your game
to adjust for the chalk's changed spin... and if you do get used to it,
ask yourself if you want to rely on a certain brand just to be able to play normally.
Don't get conned... miscues are more about poor chalking habits and bad cuing
than about which brand of chalk you use.
