Need Tip Help!

So I have determined that I really like hard tips. I can spin the rock and I like the positive feedback from the hard tip.

I ordered a Kitech hard and it was really hard (which I like). I ordered more and they weren't as hard as the first one,, as a matter of fact, they felt more like mediums.

I ordered a G2 hard tip, and I like it very much, but it still wasn't quite as hard as I want.

Can anyone suggest a tip to me that is truly a HARD tip?

Super pro, kamui hard..... those are a couple I know are pretty hard.
 
Since you like hard tips I would suggest you to try Talisman HARD or Talisman X that areeven more harder than HARD ones:smile::smile::smile::thumbup:
 
IMO, G2 Hard is a great tip that starts out as more of a Medium/Hard and becomes more firm with use. It does not become as hard as my old favorite Moori III Quick, but I still like it. I have them on 2 shafts and they behave identically.

My current favorite hard tips are:
Kamui Black Medium (with or without the clear layer)
Instroke Hard
Talisman Pro Hard

Other experiences:
Talisman Water Buffalo Hard (1 great tip, 1 very good tip)
Talisman XHard (my current break tip; too hard for me in regular play)
Kamui Black Hard (too hard for me; too expensive for a break tip)

The Instroke Hard and Talisman Pro Hard appear to have been manufactured by the same company. Other than the coating on the Talisman, they are identical in cut (diameter and height) and feel. Both are great tips and play/feel exactly as I remember my Moori III Quick. In contrast to the Moori, the G2s, Instrokes, Talismans, and Kamuis have not mushroomed.
 
Watched SVB hitting balls once and it sounded almost like phenolic. I asked him what it was and he said it was a Kamui Brown hard. Said he likes the feedback from a really hard tip.

Great information... I am going to order a Talisman X, just to try it.

I love the KiTech hard on my Scruggs, and it is so hard it sounds like a miscue on anything but a dead center CB hit. Problem is after ordering 5 of them, this was the only one that had that degree of hardness.

I like really hard tips as well, and found a new favorite. Zan Grip-Hard. It's really hard, has a great sound (aka feel), and grips the cueball like crazy. It doesn't glaze over and holds chalk well. They are somewhat pricey, but I think worth it. I've previously used Talisman Hards (WB and the regular), Moori IV Hard, Kamui Black Hard, etc and none of them have been as good as this Zan.
 
I really did like the Tiger Sniper as a harder tip.
Now I'm playing with a Kamui clear, but my favorite tip may be the Tiger Everest.
 
all very subjective ...

triangles are certainly hard and offer great control in my experience.

hard to beat the pooldawg8 milk duds for feedback, control, and a hard hit.

If you can find some Hercules xtra deluxe you will be more than happy. Best hard tips you can get. The only problem is they don't make them anymore. I have about 20 left and they are not for sale. Sometimes you can run across them here(azb) that's where i got the last ones. Super pros are very good also. Hope this helps.....Rick.
 
I hate hard tips but my friends love them. They play with Super Pro and Milk Dud.
 
I use Tiger Jump Break tips.
I bought a Zan grip hard but haven't tried it yet.

Hard tips

Sense when did Sniper become a HARD tip ?
When it has a hardness rating under 65 and elk masters are a 62 ?

Lepro is a hard tip, I like triangle tips but they are rated medium hard .

If you want hard why not have a phenolic tip installed ?
I can get more draw with my break cue then any other tip.....

You could do a milk dud triangle !
 
When I first started doing repairs, I bought a box of tips called, "Shooters", by Adam.

Water Buffalo. I have never tried one as I don't use a hard tip. If you would like to try one, PM me your mailing address and I will send you 3.

I don't suspect that I will ever get to installing all of them within my career as a repairman. Very few players in town ask for a hard tip.

Have you ever heard of a "Super Pro"? These are generally what I put on for break tips, (If someone prefers Leather over Phenolic), and on the odd jump cue. No one has ever complained. They are Hard, I can guarantee that.

There is a fellow who hangs his hat in the Machinery Forum. Mad Man Tips. I have installed a few of his for Break and Jump tips, but I believe that he also makes
normal Hard Playing tips. Could get ahold of him.

Have you considered a Milk Dud? After pressing, you get a much harder tip but still retain a decent amount of Spin and Control, considering that they are made from a soft and turned a bit harder.

Anyway, the Shooters are a Layered tip, they may be just what the Dr. Ordered.
