Need to hang lots of shafts and butts

I have several cues that I was going to leave hanging in the walk-in closet.
This is a situation that works best in my case to store cues.

I was wondering if there is something I could get that can help make this happen?
For example a joint protector with a string or a hook on it so I can lave the shafts and butts hanging.
I've seen cue makers leaving their shafts hanging but never checked up close what they use.

Is there anything out there that will help make this happen?

Something other than that rubber Shaft Hanger that wraps around the shafts.

Since I'm talking longer term storage and this rubber stuff can stain the shafts.

I've seen it done simply using rubber bands. I guess if it was a long term scenario you may have to monitor the bands for drying and cracking to prevent a mishap. Reading your post again, I don't think this is what you are looking for. It seems a ring on a joint protected would work perfect. Maybe get some cheap ones and epoxy a ring or nut or something on the end?

Use one or 2 of these.......... just screw them to the ceiling............. I use them in my shop............ be sure to screw them to a ceiling joist.........

also buy #10 screw hooks........... also at Lowes

If you want to hang butts that have screws in them...... buy a 1in dowel and cut it into 2 in lengths........... drill and tap one end for the joint screw and put a #10 hook in the other end...................... hang it

Thanks for your suggestions.

Kim, your system is much more than I want.
I'm just going to hang the shafts and butts on the clothes line.
These are all made cues, nothing raw.
By the way Kim that is one fine looking cue by golly...

I'll probably just go with the joint protectors and the fish line.

Buy some Delrin, thread one end in whatever your cue butt and shafts need, ad a hook to the other end. Problem solved :-)

I have some cues in my closet that have been hanging in that rubber sleeve for 8 years plus, no problem.

Clothes line?

Bump one and they are going to bounce around and bang into each other.

There is more than one way to skin this cat, but I would avoid hanging them from something like a clothes line. I would hang them from something rigid.

I know, you'll be careful. But it only takes one bump to set them swinging and bouncing. I am picturing nicks and frustration.

Just a thought.

.

I'd try some of those Chinese finger traps they have for children's party's. I can't guarantee they would work but it would only cost a couple bucks to give it a try. Larger diameter surgical tubing should also work.

Hanging cues

Could you just get pieces of pvc? Close up one end and cut it long enough to drill 2 holes in. Slide the shaft or butt in and then tie it up with whatever you want over the closet rod. I'm sure with a little experimenting you could find just the right size for the cue to fit into. Also, you could wrap in some cloth or something to take up the extra room.

I would maybe think of some eyebolts you can match up with your shafts.
I am sure they come in all different threads to match.

Hanging shafts is overrated .
Buy a dealer case instead .
People hang shafts and who knows if the heater's vent will hit those shafts and warp them.
You put them inside a dealer case inside your walk-in closet, you're good to go.

No vents anywhere close.
