Anyone direct me to the new 8 ball rule of ball in hand after the break, not behind the head string?
Thankyou

4. 8-Ball: The penalty for any foul on the break has changed from ball in hand in the kitchen to ball in hand. Rules 2.3.3(b), 2.3.4, 2.3.5, 2.4.2(a), and 2.4.3 have been changed and consolidated to reflect the change.

Interesting.
When the APA changes a long-standing rule, folks are all up in arms about it. Funny how this has flown below the radar.
Oh wait, it's BCAPL doing it. I get it.![]()
Looks like 8 ball just got easier...
I don't know how many times I've been on a runable table with no way to start the run from the kitchen.

I don't think the APA will follow suit. The rule change definitely gives the advantage to the more skilled player. They are about tilting the advantage to the weaker player.

Does anyone know if VNEA will adopt the same rule or will this only be for BCA?
Thanks Jeff

All our local tournaments have been playing with 'Vegas' rules..BiH after a scratch on the break...for years. I, for one, am happy for the BCAPL rule change from in the kitchen. As previously stated, it allows one more options for a run out when you can pick your starting point.

Thats what I feel Lisa. Why pentalize the incoming shooter by saying its your shot but here is where you have to shoot from. I appreciate your post & hope before our VNEA league starts this year there will be some answers for this.
