We got the announcement, but I am not going to post it. I'm afraid that it will again be open to interpretation/bashing. It is just too much to hear all the criticism and I really don't want to hear more of the same. If another member wants to put it up, then fine, but I don't want to.

I am only telling you this because everyone has been waiting and we did get it. In a nutshell, it says we will get our checks next week.

The announcement will make it's way out...there's no doubt about that. Not sure why you bothered with this post? :confused:

Dear IPT Player,

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that the financing
package in
relation to the Ho Interactive acquisition of the IPT has been signed.
This
means that IPT players will be receiving checks for the World Open
tournament next week. Since President Bush signed into law the bill
outlawing online gaming in America, our initial financing package is
lower
than originally contemplated. This shortfall will be made up at the IPO
and
through other initiatives. We are now working on finalizing the formal
documents relating to the Ho Interactive acquisition and initial public
offering. We hope to formally sign these documents and make a formal
public
announcement early next week. Our staff will be calling each and every
one
of you so that we may send checks to you via overnight priority
delivery.
Thank you again for your support and patience. Together we can turn the
dream of the IPT into the reality that we all want to achieve. I will
update
you again next Monday with more specific details.

just what i thought.........i knew that online gaming law would really effect this deal.............
 
So (Heh heh).. Lemme get this straight.. (Haw haw)

He basically said (chuckle) that...

"We're almost done 'finalizing' yada yada yackety smackety, and the players will get paid 'soon'"?

Right? I mean.. That pretty much sums it up... Right?

And this is different than his last 3 or 4 letters...how?

Sigh.

I can honestly say that this is the first time I've actually laughed about this. How can you NOT though? I was on the phone with an IPT member to see if they would send me their copy when James posted it and when I was reading it to them all they kept saying was "omg, omg" and even they had to laugh at it and this person has not been laughing the last 40+ days.

It says what Friday's announcement says... there's supposedly separate funding to pay the players but the HO deal is still in the finalization period. It's the same announcement but worded differently.

I'm not backing down from what I've been saying. I'll believe it when the players have cash money (cleared checks) in hand.
 
The way I understand it, the players will get a partial payment next week and the "shortfall will be made up at the IPO" and "through other iniatives", whatever that means is anybody's guess.

Gee, he really is that good!!

I can see why you didnt want to post it and I dont blame you. It sort of gets old posting the same announcement over and over again.

Well he says the financing package is complete and links it to the acquisition meaning im guessing that Ho wouldnt take it over til the money was there for the players but why wouldn't he just pay less and assume the prize liability himslef? I mean it is a totally known figure. Unless of course HO is being paid to take it over.

The overall pop the champagne tone seems to be gone- It seems possible that the initial check to the players may not be in the full amount?

No mention of Chicago? I think the prize fund for Chicago is going to be reduced once HO is in charge. That is my "half empty" assessment and probably all wrong.

Half a loaf is better than none of course. Time will tell.

James, I truly hope so. Both Friday & todays announcement are certainly full of more promise that you guys will get paid, than anything else you've gotten to date. As for the longevity of the IPT... still uncertain, but payment for Reno certainly does look more promising. ;)

I hope so James. The only problem is this has been going on for weeks now. Maybe this time its different. We will see:D
 
One More Week

I like the way he buys another full week so easily. Let's see, that brings us to Oct. 30. According to this the checks would be going out around the 1st of November, and in players hands by Nov. 5. Many players will already be in Manila for the WPC by then.

By my calendar, that makes it nearly two full months since the World Open ended and Fedex failed to deliver the checks.

We shall see. The plot thickens. I will say this once again. For a promoter who promised on time and immediate payment of all prize monies, he has set a new record for tardiness.

And please, don't anyone tell me about all he has done for Pool and the poolplayers. That is a broken record already. Regardless of what he did or didn't do, he has become the biggest liar in the history of professional pool!

A dubious distinction, but well earned.

Either the prize fund will be smaller and/or he's "setting us up" for the sale to be considerably less than what he said it was for. :rolleyes:
 
Why don't someone give Ho a call and get to the bottom of this. Surely someone from here know Mr Ho.
