New announcement out

Dear IPT Player,

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that the financing
package in
relation to the Ho Interactive acquisition of the IPT has been signed.
This
means that IPT players will be receiving checks for the World Open
tournament next week. Since President Bush signed into law the bill
outlawing online gaming in America, our initial financing package is
lower
than originally contemplated. This shortfall will be made up at the IPO
and
through other initiatives. We are now working on finalizing the formal
documents relating to the Ho Interactive acquisition and initial public
offering. We hope to formally sign these documents and make a formal
public
announcement early next week. Our staff will be calling each and every
one
of you so that we may send checks to you via overnight priority
delivery.
Thank you again for your support and patience. Together we can turn the
dream of the IPT into the reality that we all want to achieve. I will
update
you again next Monday with more specific details.

Very truly yours,

Kevin Trudeau, Founder
International Pool Tour

just what i thought.........i knew that online gaming law would really effect this deal.............

The key word in this latest missive may be "hope", as in "We hope to sign this deal next week". That leaves more room to fudge again.

And by the way, according to his prior e-mail, this was supposed to be the week the checks went out.

Gee, he really is that good!!

I got that impression as well. He's thinking the players will come out for say 50cent on the dollar (or worse). This is going to be fun. I'm expecting a good old fashion style, Souther Baptist, singing to the Angels, barn burning sermon in Chicago. He better have his A-Game or some of the more seasoned boys are gonna be sharpening their pool cues into shivs:eek: !

A curtain pro is going to have to break out his prison handbook and contact some people he'd rather not remember.

Dear Bubba (care of: Attica Prison),
I never thought I'd be writing to you but events beyond my control have forced me to ........

I wonder which one of his 3 IPT employees will be next in re-writing this msg in their own words next week?

Wonder what % of the PLAYERS winnings will be mailed next week?

Any estimates.......my guess is 50% or less:mad:

The rest of the statement is gobblygoop....based on, contingent on, etc, etc, etc.

K*&T has more moves than ELGIN BAYLOR:rolleyes:

Hoping the RUNT and K*&T prove me full of ka ka.

If I understand the emails prior to Friday, payment was dependent upon the Ho deal. Then on Fri he seperated payments from Ho saying that funding had been secured for payment and then he went on to talk about the Ho deal in a different paragraph. Then today he says the players are getting paid because the deal went "through" even though the final papers, as usual, have not been signed.

If the players are paid for Reno, I expect full payment but like Nostroke, I expect future payouts to be smaller, which if he had made smaller prize funds in the begining, we might not be suffering through this situation now.

Yes, sounds like he will have someone from his office contact each player sometime next week to tell them how much of what they are owed they will be receiving and basically cutting deals in order to get them to go to Chicago. Without Chicago and the players he knows that he has nothing, and he probably will try to buy them with cheap money and generous promises.

If I am correct, Chicago payments will be even harder to collect.

He's acting as though he has the players by the ba//s, what the players don't realize is that it's the other way around, they have him by ba//s.

He IS real good!

Jimmy, not that I don't always want to be right (:D ) but this is one time that I really, really want to be more right than you are. The players totally deserve full payment for Reno and I'm sure will be more than willing to accept a smaller prize fund for Chicago.

Tim, I too, truly hope that they get paid in full, almost as much as you do, but read the e-mail again and remember who's signature is on the bottom.

He's a lot clearer this time: the "financing package is lower than expected", "the shortfall will be made up at the IPO and other iniatives".

Why else would someone from office need to call "each and every one of you" before sending out the checks, if not to outline the new deal?

Timberly, only my take, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe something less is better than nothing. Remember, this guy is a real snake.

well if the prize fund is less in chicago that would piss me off even more than waiting 2 months for my money....the reason being i need to have a good tourney to secure my spot for next year..and if the money is less thats just not fair ..............a really really good tourney :) lol

I still see 2 *Deals"- one for funding the Reno pizes, a precursor necessity (my assumption) for 2nd deal- the "Ho Acquisition"

Good point... In this 40+ day mess I forgot that you guys are still shooting for position on the money list in hopes of retaining a tour card if the IPT continues. Then again, if the tour is bought... the new owner might change the rules and the top money earning spots might no longer be a prerequisite to getting on the tour next year.

Nostroke, I think you're right about things having to be "taken care of" prior to any deal happening.

and tune in next week for the next episode of "Broken promises" same time and channel .. Staring KT...........................

After thinking about this I think the BIG winners will be offered a smaller % of their winnings. The players that won smaller $ amounts might get a greater % if not their entire prize. IMO the overall payout will be less than 50%.

Hope I'm wrong!

We got the announcement, but I am not going to post it. I'm afraid that it will again be open to interpretation/bashing. It is just too much to hear all the criticism and I really don't want to hear more of the same. If another member wants to put it up, then fine, but I don't want to.

I am only telling you this because everyone has been waiting and we did get it. In a nutshell, it says we will get our checks next week.

Thanks.

Linda

Hi Linda,

I understand that you do not like to post the announcements here on the forum, but please keep in mind that there are a lot of other people who are "related" to the IPT who needs information about it, and does not get it.

I am one of them.

I am running qualifiers for the IPT, I have called and encouraged minimum 10 players to join qualifiers for the IPT before the World Open and TC-Qualifiers, and I do not get any information about the checks if I am not visiting this site for the latest rumours/news.

I have put up a lot of time and money in the IPT, and for the Norwegians I am the one to call if they have questions about the IPT, because of my status as host and tournament director on qualifiers.

When I do not get any official information, what should I do then?

My point here is that I am getting really frustrated, and I suppose other TD and hosts around the world are too, because there is so much lack of information, to everyone, whether it's players, sponsors, td's, venues or just fans.

As you probably understand we need players like you Linda, to post the information you get, since the IPT are not giving us information!

If the IPT want to get more players to the qualifiers, the first thing they should do is to keep all the involved people informed, especially those who are running the qualifiers and are representing the IPT around the world..

Yeah, and they should pay the players too, that wouldn't be too bad ;)

Jay...<<And by the way, according to his prior e-mail, this was supposed to be the week the checks went out.>>

And there is a Catch 22...I think. I take NYC Dude at his word that a lawsuit may be initiated. I would GUESS that in any such suit an injunction would be sought to at least temporarily prevent any payments to anyone until the suit...if it is filed...gets into gear.

Those who earned smaller sums have a right to protect themselves against any unequal payout percentages. I just don't think that a court would permit the Top finishers to be paid out a higher percentage of what was promised than the lower finishers.

In addition, any two players....or other creditors...could file for involuntary bankruptcy against the IPT and then FOR SURE...the breaks would be slammed on and NOTHING would go to ANYONE.

I am not suggesting or recommending anything contained in the above...just pointing out what a legal rat's nest this can turn into in a...well...NYC minute.

Regards,
Jim
