New break rule for European Open

With the template, changed to soome extent but nothing special. With triangle and hand racking, changed a lot! (If only the refs could correct their own imperfections, so that the sh!t which opened Filler vs Shaw match - three golden breaks in a row, 9-ball tracking all the time - could be fixed as soon as it happens.)
Yeah, we haven’t had dead 9’s in 10 years since the templates took over. It’s like MR completely ignored the issues that the templates solved. No matter how knowledgeable the racker is, even with brand new balls and racks, sometimes it’s simply impossible to freeze the two balls behind the 9.

Typical DAZN. I don't think they could screw up pool streaming more if they tried.

I wasn’t talking about other events. I was talking about matchroom events and how the players approach to the break has changed since Matchroom changed their break rules

MR really only took the same rules that the US open had before 2019, that the international open uses, the eurotour uses and also DCC 9-ball. they haven't invented the wheel here.

players know the wing ball isn't wired and acts accordingly.. cut break overall is most effective but some players still smashes them. the difference from previous MR events is that there is less predictability and more safety play. of course the same players reach the finals as in previous events. play enough matches, long enough matches, and the best players will prosper..

SVB break and scratch... Albin break and scrach...both at the same midle pocket. It is going funny rigth now.

Ah, here's a chapter from "Stop giving her ideas" saga :D Now players will get to do their homework and try to figure this new break out. Therefore I suggest MR come up with several crazy ways to break and do not reveal the certain way to be used at the coming event! 🤫 Get them numbered, and then draw one of the numbers behind the scenes and seal it in the envelope, which is opened one day before the event starts (maybe as soon as the bracket is drawn). Then upload the video of random selection process, so that everything is clear and fair ©️

Whoever is writing these daily reports on the European Open coming from Matchroom needs help. The report on each match are nearly illegible. I can barely understand what took place during the games and who had the lead throughout the match. I would say an English language reporter who is conversant in Pool could do a much better job. I remember the daily reports Ted Lerner used to make for Matchroom. They were written like an excellent sports report should be.

I'm just going to keep an eye on the score. I watched the YouTube channel.
This one was definitely more entertaining than the UK open.
Way more unpredictable with the break box. And 9 on the spot.
Should be as tough as possible.

And my thought was, when the diamond-shaped rack of balls is placed high (i.e. 9 is on the spot) the players most often try to make the 1 in the side, as the head ball gets closer to the side pockets. Regardless of where the CB is on the break.
