I ordered a Soft yesterday, and decided that I'd rather have a medium...the folks at Bulletproof were lightning quick to respond, and managed to change my order prior to shipment. I placed another order today, for one of the hard tips to try at a later date.
If the tips perform as well as their customer service, its a no brainier.
My sincere thanks to the folks at Bulletproof Billiards!

I ordered one, the free tip code still worked. I do have a suggestion; the colors are a bit much for "players". They may attract the kids that think flashy and showing off is good, but most good players like muted equipment that is not so distracting. The red and green tips, at least in photos, look very bright. Darker color scale would work better I think, darker burgundy, oxblood instead of bright red, olive green instead of bright green, etc...
I have a bulletproof soft/blue, and it has never crossed my mind that the color was annoying in any way. I sort of like the different colors, and I'm an old man. Like I said, the color wasn't even a consideration to me as to whether I liked it or not.

Yes, just try not to take material off. Just lightly scuff the surface
I was just downstairs using my cue that has a bulletproof blue soft tip on it. I haven't been able to notice the difference between it and a leather tip, no miscues and good action on the cue ball. I scuffed it up a while back and with playing with it for a month it is sort of smooth out again but is still good. I have heard others who have used a medium and said they had a miscue they normally wouldn't have with a leather tip, but I didn't see that incident happen. I am totally happy with the soft synthetic tip as it does everything I need. I have been using it downstairs instead of League just to gain a little confidence with it, but I think I'm going to try league play with it now.

so far for me its still judgement reserved
i played with a soft for a few games and then with a medium for a few games
both felt very firm when trying to shape them and the sound was also "different" but i got used to the sound
the soft felt as if i was not getting as much energy transmission to the cue ball ie took more effort to get the cue ball where i wanted to
the medium seemed more responsive in spite of the difference in feel
on some shots with extreme spin the tip felt as if it wasnt grabbing the cueball as well as my g2 soft but not on all shots
cant explain that
i think they will be ok with more time to get used to how they perform
as a unique material i think bulletproof recoils will be a reasonable alternative for tip choice
only time will tell if i will switch from my g2 soft

I have meanwhile tested the soft and medium, also some other guys from our club tested them. All in all usable. But there are two issues that are not performing on the highest level that I'm used to have from standard leather tips: We experienced that the grip is not on that level of a good leather tip, me and my guys from the club miscued much more than usual. Second thing is that the soft and medium absorb more of the stroke energy than used from good leather tips, we did much harder to thrill the cueball than we are used to.

The green (hard) RECOIL I did not test yet, and I'm not sure if shall test the hard one in future, because I expect still less grip and more risk of miscuing. And the medium was already on the upper level of what feels nice to me, the hard one would probably feel to hard to me.

All in all I think this innovation is great for barcues and their owners who will have a minimum effort in taking care of the tips. Or if someone plays a very heavy cue or plays spin and draw pretty much at the center of the cueball, the RECOIL could be a very good tip and very durable.
As I could not stop reflecting one issue / idea came up that might be some kind of important. Here in this thread are a lot of positive comments and feedback to the RECOIL tips, but there seem to be a discrepancy between my own experiences and those reported here.

The reason for this discrepancy could be that the performance / elastic behavior / the COR of the RECOIL tips fit much better to the performance / stiffness of carbon shafts. WE in our club did with one exception all test with wooden shafts! And the only one guy that has the medium still on his carbon shaft is still pretty happy with it, and this combination of carbon shaft + medium RECOIL is applying spin much easier that all other combinations with wooden shafts that we had.

Maybe there are similar experiences or maybe the manufacturer of the tips like to give a clarifying comment.

As with anything there are going to be people that love something and others that don't. Overall, as reflected by most of the people testing them here on this forum, most people are not having issues with spin, miscues or energy transfer. I personally play with the Green (Hard) because of the amount of energy transfer and don't experience any more miscues than I did with leather. We have well over 100 local players testing and playing with these on wood and carbon shafts and none have voiced any concerns with miscues etc. I think ALL soft tips (leather or ours) exhibit a loss of energy but if you ask 1000 people 999 will say they get more "grab" "spin" and "draw" from soft tips. So because of this, I tell all of my customers what you believe to be true is way more important than what is actually true in this sport. This game is 80% mental. If you shoot a few shots with extreme spin and miscue, you will be thinking "I hope I don't miscue" every time you pull the trigger and guess what happens? The very same thing happened to me 30+ years ago when I was with a company called Best Billiards. We were the exclusive US distributor for Moori tips. I put one on my cue and loved how it felt and played. Went out to play a session that night and miscued more times in that 4 hours than I did in the 4 years prior playing with pressed Elkmasters. I cut it off right there in the pool hall and never played with one again and in the meantime, we literally sold thousands of them every month! I guess I was the only person in the world who had miscue issues with Moori but I could not overcome the invasive thought "I hope I don't miscue again" every time I was down on a shot!

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ping.
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I just recently purchased some tips and gave them to my Cue repair man
to install them
I also found a YouTube video on proper way to install the tips which i forwarded to him
which included an accelerator and some other materials
My cue man just has Loctite will that work?
He says the other glue and accelerators are on the expensive side
And he would have to buy them
Answers and help is appreciated
this is the link i sent to my cue repair guy
I used Gorilla Glue Gel. No accelerator and I only used some emery cloth to knock the tip perfectly flat. No need to go ham on roughing the surface up. It's still on and I've even broke with it a lot.

Testing of the Hard Recoil complete.
After 3+ months of use, including breaking abuse.

Next test will be a Medium Recoil.

Took several weeks to get used to the feel of shooting with a hard tip. Very happy with performance. (500 fargo.)

I wish I had done closeup inspections more often. Cleaned it up for scuffing to find.... It looks like I fractured the tip, probably from using it for breaking. No idea when it occurred.

I'm certain if you cut that tip off and send it back to Bulletproof for examination they'll send you a few replacements of your choice.

Hello to people of AZBilliards. I am new to this website, but I made an account to just write about the Bulletproof Recoil tips I have been experimenting with lately. I believe the more information we get out about these, the more recognition they will start to get, which I believe they deserve personally.

To start, I currently play with a Bulletproof Recoil Hard tip. Before that I was playing with a Kamui Clear Brown Medium tip. I have now tested every formulation of the Recoil tips. Including the soft, reformulated soft, medium, and hard tip. Shoutout to Robert also for dealing with all of my questions and multiple phone calls haha. Super cool guy, with a great product.

The soft/reform soft had good feel to it, not much of a tink when you hit the ball, but I found it spun the ball way more than I needed. The draw and follow also suffered because the tip ate up a lot of the energy transfer from my stroke. The reformulated soft felt harder than the original soft, maybe like a soft medium, but it doesn't mushroom like the old soft. The medium feels great, but again just put a little more action than I was looking for. I did notice I got better draw/follow with the medium than I did the soft though. So I tried the hard tip, and instantly I was more accurate on long shots, and I got a much more satisfying feel when I hit the ball. The energy transfers much better with the hard tip. The biggest thing most people don't like about hard tips is miscues, but I haven't miscued once with this tip. I can get just as far off the ball as I can with a soft/medium leather tip. It sounds crazy, but it's true. Two other things i've noted is my draw is much better and consistent with this tip, and also I get less deflection with this tip as well. I also like the fact my tip hasn't changed shape at all, which i've noticed has made me more consistent than I used to be as well. Kamui Gator Grip tool works awesome on these.

Robert did tell me they possibly planned on trying to produce a medium hard tip in the future, but until that day comes, I don't think I will be switching from the hard formulation tip. It plays far too well to experiment with anything else currently.

On the other hand, I currently have a white diamond break tip, and now I want to try out a Bulletproof Break tip haha since I love this Recoil tip so much. They make great products, and have awesome customer service.
