Thanks for this review, I got back into playing pool again 2yrs ago after 10yrs or so of not even picking up a cue, I said I would never use a CF shaft and I kinda didn't lie, I ended up buying a Becue full CF cue, I have been playing the Kamui Athlete and the TAOM Fusion tips as they are designed for CF shafts, I liked both but the TAOM was a much harder tip, you may not believe this but the harder tip caused more miscues........ my poor stroke and mechanics had nothing to do with it.....amazingly as my stroke became more consistent so did my tip......I just bought a Kamui Athlete Hard tip because I wanted to try something in between the M and H tip, I have wondered when someone would build a non leather tip, not that I am against leather but for a more consistent playing tip, I have been reading the reviews on these tips and yours give really good clear and concise info, I too want a med hard tip, thanks for your feedback.
Our discount code RECOIL20 is still good for 20% Off Recoil tips on our website ;)

I have been playing with the hard green Recoil tip and I love it. It keeps its shape and I only scuff it every week or so. It holds chalk very well. I can chalk at the beginning of a game and don't really need to chalk again until the next rack. The chalk only wears away at the center, but stays on the edge of the tip pretty much throughout the game. I still get good draw on the cueball even without chalking up in the middle of a game.

I've installed the soft blue Recoil tip on a teammate's cue and he likes it very much, also. He hasn't seen any mushrooming so far, but I'm not sure how many games he's played with it yet.

I am extremely happy with these tips!
Thank you.

Thanks for the update! We're glad they are delivering everything we've promised! We have reformulated the Soft and expect we will no longer have any mushrooming issues.

I have been playing a bit with the bulletproof soft and have no complaints about it, just pretty much good stuff. I've loaned the shaft out to other accomplished players and let them try it out and did not have any negative responses from them. All of them liked it. Although, everybody is a bit apprehensive of the change from leather to synthetic which makes them a bit hesitant to commit to it. There really hasn't been any negative results, it's just a big change for most players.

Carbon Shafts were a big change too but they are mainstream now. We always knew getting people to try these would be the biggest obstacle. People resist change. Changing to something better than what you have should be a no-brainer but we all know this isn't the case. Many thanks to everyone who has tried them and posted their comments. So far, nobody has tried them and NOT liked them! That should help convince the people who are unsure.

Three months so far, with the red medium on a Revo 12.4mm. I will go for hours forgetting that I'm playing with a synthetic tip. Even the noise has started sounding "normal" to me. ha ha. The color of the tip or ferrule has always been irrelevant to me as I never look directly at the tip of my cue. I look at the cue ball and the object ball, going back and forth, and the tip of my cue is right there in my peripheral.
The definition of "perfection" is without any faults. If there was one fault with the Recoil, it's that you need a lathe to do a perfect installation even though I have seen a few nice installations done by hand. My first attempt, by hand, was not pretty. So, I deep sixed the tip and tuned up my old lathe and ... the rest is history.

You're spot on! We highly recommend having it properly installed. I have seen some pretty good installs done by hand too. The guy that has reviewed our tips, shafts and cues on YouTube did a review of a tip installation tool using a Recoil tip and did a surprisingly nice job and he'd never installed a tip by hand in his life! For those that hate paying good money for something you can do yourself, keep this in mind...we used to think if we did a crappy install of a tip that it would be worn out in a few months anyway so we could live with it. A poorly installed Recoil Tip will haunt you for years! LOL Because these tips will last for years the price to have it installed on a lathe is a very insignificant factor in the scheme of things. So Rick, is it safe to say based on your experience and opinion the Recoil Tip is as close to perfection as a pool cue tips gets? HAHA

Installed in late September and still playing with the hard. I wanted to try the medium but I just can't seem to bring myself to swap it out! :)
Here it is after ~700+ games. Hasn't changed shape at all and still holds chalk like day one. Haven't reshaped it nor even hit it with a tip pick. Amazing!

I would like to try the new formulated soft. Since I have bought from you wholesale before I'll be sending another order shortly. Thanks!

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I just recently purchased some tips and gave them to my Cue repair man
to install them
I also found a YouTube video on proper way to install the tips which i forwarded to him
which included an accelerator and some other materials
My cue man just has Loctite will that work?
He says the other glue and accelerators are on the expensive side
And he would have to buy them
Answers and help is appreciated
this is the link i sent to my cue repair guy

Accelerators are not needed but I highly recommend using 2P-10 glue. It's the strongest I have found. Home Depot LocTite ultra gel may work but if it does fall off it's due to that glue. 2P-10 is $6.99 for a 2.25oz bottle on Amazon which is less than the $4.50 for 1/4oz tube of LocTite. The only difference is I use the 2P-10 for 2 months and then throw most of it away. It has a shelf life of about 2 months before it starts to lose strength unless you keep it refrigerated. Here is a link to what I buy: 2P-10 Thick on Amazon

Looks like I just need to sell everyone in the world a Recoil tip...then nobody will ever need a new tip and I will be out of business and can retire! HAHA

Well maybe I am old School, but I realize when I put a Leather Tip into service it will not last forever. I seem to get a lot of life out of a tip because my Tip Tool is a Square of 220 Sandpaper, it is used to scuff up surface when Tip will not hold chalk well. NOT PLAY GRIND TIP A WAY. Most Chalk like Master, Silver Cup, or Triangle is abrasive so it also if used properly scuff up you Cues Tip.

I laugh at people who play Pool who have an arsenal of Tip Tools, shaper, pickers, scuffers, tapper, etc. They are good for the people who put on NEW TIPS when a perfectly good tip has been destroyed by over maintenance.

BTW my Mushroom Tool is a NEW US BANK note of any denomination, (U.S. Paper Money) works great removing mushrooms. Trick is to not let the mushrooms get big, when you notice a mushroom forming, use the New Paper money to remove it.

I've installed 8 of these, so by no means an expert.

Started with 3 using my normal Loctite ultra gel. Had one pop off, but the other two have been fine. I put mine on with 2P-10 and it has held up for 700+ games as mentioned above. But to be on the safe side I've been using 2-part epoxy for these as I do with all break tips. Sometimes it depends on the ferrule material and I just take the extra time rather than have one come back.

Hello! We now have a new synthetic polymer resin playing tip we call Recoil. You can find them on our website and we are offering a FREE soft tip (just pay the shipping cost) for players who want to try them and let us know what you think. Use code RECOIL at checkout on our website. If you'd prefer a Medium or Hard, use code RECOIL50 to get 50% off for the next 10 days. These tips do not flatten, harden, compress, or glaze and play as well as any premium leather market tip! The soft may mushroom slightly if you hit hard but the Medium and Hard will NEVER mushroom or lose their shape! Feel free to call us or post any questions you may have here. We have been playing with wood cues with a piece of leather glued to the end for hundreds of years! Finally, we have carbon fiber shafts that outperform wood and we're excited to be the first to have a replacement for the most inconsistent part of the game. We truly believe this is a literal game-changer!
I think I need to do a review!

I ordered one, the free tip code still worked. I do have a suggestion; the colors are a bit much for "players". They may attract the kids that think flashy and showing off is good, but most good players like muted equipment that is not so distracting. The red and green tips, at least in photos, look very bright. Darker color scale would work better I think, darker burgundy, oxblood instead of bright red, olive green instead of bright green, etc...

We recommend coloring the tip black with a sharpie if it will distract you.
