Picked up a new camera today so I figured i'd put it to the test on various wood colors & figures. Since I got the pics, thought i'd share so here's some wood porn.

Nice wood porn there! But your not ready to work for Hefner anytime soon though.:D
 
Thanks. I'm trying, but this camera stuff is kinda tough. Got a decent cam, some filters, etc. but haven't aquired the skills yet. I think I need a better flash, too, for inside shots.

I take pics of my cues directly under fluorescent lights.
 
if you ever get cold you have enough wood there to stay warm for a long time, or sell it- and buy a VERY nice house with the $$$$, ;):grin-square:

Man you do have some wood!!!!, If you didnt live 9 hours away I would come see it, but I just cant hold up that long in a car with my back.

its possible i'm more impressed with your wood pile than you are my cue collection, want to trade???

Also after seeing all that wood, please make me a cue :wink:

question?

I was looking at the BEM and the fiddle back forearm's, what are they 1 out of 500 or 1000 blanks. Thats some serious wood right there. I have looked over alot of wood in the past 25 years in pool and gun stocks. I need to figure a trip down to see you.
 
I'm not a good photog, but my good friend is. My friend said that it's all about lighting. You have to try various angles and positions until you get it right. When my friend shoot my cues, he needs to test shoot for about 30mins to an hour, until he gets it right. Then it fast forward from there.

Great woods... Drooling...
 
Wow. The 3rd piece from the bottom in the last pic is incredible!! One of the most amazing pieces of wood I've ever seen.

That's some of the nicest wood i've seen in a long time. It's absolutely top notch and will make some extra nice cues.........

:grin-square: It's because I travel a VERY long way, often, to hand pick my woods out of the stack. I usually only buy really nice boards of curly or birdseye, and then cherry pick the section I want & cut a blank from it. It's uber expensive & time consuming, but a lot of fun for me.
