New Cue

I have been looking to buy a new cue for 2 weeks now but cant pull the trigger. I love the stiffer hit of a Schon but closing my eyes and laying that 500 bucks down just eats at me. Joss is ok too but one last question before I do something. Has anyone hit Furys and are they worth the money. Do they have a stiff hit like a Schon or Joss or should I just quit looking for something that hits like a Schon and buy the real thing.
Thanks in advance

Buy the Schon you can't go wrong. If you buy something else you will always be thinking"What if I bought the Schon?".
Been there and done that.

I've heard only one other CURRENT brand of production cue that competes or exceeds Schon in quality/hit, and that's Mezz. I would try a Mezz before I try a Schon.

Buy the real deal. Let us talk about real deal it can be had here at AZ. Last week I bought a a great schon here del, to my humble oboe for $326.00. The cue was perfect as described by the seller. Brand new the cue's cost about $575 to $625. You can buy at many sites ex. shafts for little over $100.00 if you need a 2ND. shaft. Just saying let someone else drive it off the lot. But almost new you save a ton of money. Hope this gives you something to consider.

I heard the same thing. Tried the Mezz, dumped it & was back to my Schon in less than 2 weeks.

It has always been my experience that If I have my eye on something for an extended amount of time no substitution can be made.

SO, with that said you should pull the trigger on the Schon. I have owned Schon's, Joss' and Fury's and personally was not a big fan of the Joss at all. The Schon had a much better resale value and a much crisper hit. The only Fury I owned was a jump/break and while it performed well enough the overall craftsmanship did not align with keeping and using the cue forever. It wasn't built to take the abuse of breakng balls as it just couldn't hold up. The shaft warped after a few months and I got rid of it.

Buy the Schon and take the chance or you will always wonder what might have been. Then again, you may absolutely hate it as well. But nevertheless, you are making an investment in your game by finding what works best for you....yes, losing money on a few cues trying them out is indeed and investment on your future game!!!

new cue

Okay. Just needed some help from the support group. Its Schon and as per usual, thanks a lot.

I think I just enjoy being unique... I wouldn't buy a Schon cause they are just too damn common. Not a big fan of their look either.

always get what you want....don't downgrade b/c of impatience

if your looking for a Schon hit.......then buy a Schon

if you want a Southwest hit......then buy a Southwest

don't go pissing in the wind trying to find "X" cheaper cue thats going to hit like whatever cues hit your looking for.........

buy the dam cue, take care of it so that way you didn't just BLOW your money.......

cues last a lifetime if you take care of them properly and $500 for a stick you can keep 20+ years is not very much money at all......its actually DIRT CHEAP for what you can get out of it.

Just don't be a dingaling and treat your new cue like your redheaded step child.........you take care of that equipment and it will take care of you and bring you enjoyment for a very long time.

Or go spend $100+ on a fury get upset b/c its nothing like "X" cue you wanted so you treat it like crap and it gets beat to hell......now your looking for another cue and you can't get $5 for the old one.

Best to just get what you want and not pussyfoot around, at least you wont have that awesome case of buyers remorse b/c the product is thumbs down.

Its never too much money if the quality is what you want and need......remember that.....If the cue you want will take you a year to save for then save the money one day at a time my man.

get a used schon and save yourself the cash. buying one right here on az is the way to go. you're going to get a better deal and your money stays in the pool playing community

fury's ain't bad but i think lucasi's are better.

If you know you want a Schon, then buy a Schon...buy anything else, you'll feel you sold yourself short and you'll just be flipping it for change and getting one later anyway. My Schon still looks exactly the same 16 years later and my heart still skips a beat everytime I pull it out and screw it together. Even after all these years I sometimes pull it out occassionally and heft it in my livingroom, just because I still love just looking at it.
