NEW Diamond tables - how long did you wait?

I'm trying to figure out if I am the anomaly or the common case.

I placed a deposit in mid August 2010 (and that was after waiting 9-12 months for the new rail angles).

It's now mid December 2010.

Best case for delivery for me is late December to early January 2011-ish -- so 3.5 months -- but it's been delayed over and over and over and over, so I'm not too confident in those estimates.

My delivery, install, and setup is scheduled with the one and only RKC.

So, here are the questions:
1. How long did you wait?
2. Where are you located?
3. Was it a NEW Professional or a NEW Pro-Am?
4. 1 or 3 piece slate?

My order is for a NEW Diamond 1-piece slate Pro-Am with new rails.

I'm in the Pacific NW.

I'm also curious whether Diamond delivers tables in the order in which they are placed or continually de-prioritizes single-table homeowners like myself...

....Still waiting and counting the days...

Hey Mark, It took me about 2 months to get a Pro Am 1 piece slate. I got mine delivered by the guys that work at Diamond. I live in VA. They had the new tables with the new rail system at the US Open. Maybe having it delivered by Glen is some of the hold up. I know he stays pretty busy. If I recall write one other guy waited a long time for him to bring one also. You might call Diamond and talk to Paul and see if he can get you one coming if they do a tournament out your way. Good luck

Mine was about 2-1/2 months if I remember right. 7' Pro-am with 3 piece slate, which was a custom order.

I too had some delays/postponements, but nothing like what you've experienced. I think they probably wait for fairly "full" trucks/orders before they deliver based on my conversations with the folks there, but that's just my impression, not a quote from the people at Diamond.

Hang in there. The delays are frustrating, but the tables are the bee's knees:thumbup2: I absolutely love mine.

Mark, what your waiting for is Diamond's top mechanic, this guy is in heavy demand. You should be in contact with him directly.

Yeah, I am in contact with Glen. I think he is Diamond's only mechanic? Of course, Glen is the best...

So far, it appears 3.5 months is only about 2x the norm. so far...

We wanted Glen to set ours up but his schedule is way to fluid. Aren't there any other mechanics that he endorses out your way? We ended up have Jay from A1 Billiards do ours and he did a wonderful job. Remember, these tables come from th efactory pre assembled. Thus, the typical install (Jay had to dis assemble ours to get it inside then re assemble it) is just good leveling (maybe slightly over simplified) but it is already clothed so there isn't any real worry about a bad setup.

I'm told the 1-piece slate version of the Pro-Am requires special know-how that only Glen has...I have two double-door entrances to my home (each 6' wide), but both have complexities that make installation not as straight-forward as I'd like...take it in the top floor and you have a stairway to deal with (4' wide, 20' tall though)...take it in from the backyard/deck and you have to ramp it up the deck stairs...

I also feel the most comfortable with Glen doing the setup/install...but as you mention, 1 person for the ENTIRE USA, is a bit of a stretch....

Be patient. The table and the quality of the install will be worth the wait.... guaranteed.

I've had my Pro for about 9 years now and Glen recovered it 1.5 yrs ago. It took several months of waiting for him to be able to do the work but, again, the wait was well worth it as the re-install he did on my table has the table playing perfectly... PERFECTLY!

Diamond/Greg and Glen will take care of your every need and want.

Glad everything worked out Jim. At least you had a table to play on while you were waiting...I have no table.

In one thread you said you put a deposit down in mid Sept... in another thread you said you put a deposit down in mid August. I think you're just confused and antsy. It was probly just last week but seems like a couple a months.;)... Be patient. It's a slow process.

Agreed. While the wait is frustrating, it is short-term.

You'll get it and it will be AWESOME.

Be patient and look forward to decades of torture, errr, enjoyment.

Waiting a while

My situation is a little different. Bought the table in 2007 before I had a home. Moved to Cali later that year and finally just bought a house July of this year. I've been getting pushed out and out because I know Glen's busy and he hasn't made a trip out here. I contacted Diamond and I believe that they may have sdbilliards pick it up and set it up if it meets his schedule.

2 weeks from the deposit:smile:

3 piece slate 9ft pro am through a basement window.

No worries having Donny set up your table. He is the certified Diamond guy in SoCal and knows what he's doing fo' sure.

i waited 6 weeks for mine, located in the metro east st. louis area

9' professional, 3 piece slate

Andy Cook was the mechanic and if whoever sets yours up does half as good as job as him, you got absolutely no worries

hang in there, you're gonna get a great table

Realized I didn't answer your time question. It took just under 3 weeks from the phone call with Glen to the installation. Somehow he he managed to get us a one from the "Blue" production run at Diamond, delivered to Jay at A-1 Billiards in New Hampshire, and driven down to MA to meet his promised intall date. Still do not know how he and Jay pulled it off.

You lucky bastard.

I paid the deposit on September 17th. I just found a mail from Aaron @ Diamond telling me Glen would be there in the next 2-3 weeks (on Sept 17th!!) :-)

Oh well, I'm waiting and waiting and waiting.

Now that seems like a reasonable amount of time. Thanks for the response -- I will roll up all of these responses...

So far, it appears that my 3+ months is NOT THE NORM, but it happens...
