New line of Valley, Dynamo, and Global coin-op replacement cushions.

This new line of replacement rails is called "Ridgeback Rails". They're designed to replace the factory cushions for the Valley, Dynamo, and Global 7 and 8ft line of coin-operated pool tables.

Main points of interest about this new line of rails are as follows:

1) In production, the cushion rubber and sub-rail block are glued twice before being attached.

2) There is a center ridge down the center of the back of the rail even with the top and bottom of the rail to give the rail a three point contact against the top rail cap, to prevent the splitting of the rails by over tightening them when mounting the rails.

3) The t-nut mounting plates are 1/4" x 20 x 7/8th's barreled with the first 1/4" being non-threaded in order to give you a pin&dowel fitting between the rail bolt and t-nut to prevent the cross threading of the bolt when lining up the bolt to the t-nut. This also removes the need to cut away any overlapping cloth in order to start threading the rail bolt.

4) The pocket facings are made of 3/16" neoprene to prevent any stencil cutting through of the cloth in the corner pockets.

5) The rails come uncovered, so it's your choice of cloth installed on them the first time.

6) The sub-rail blocks are made from Poplar hardwood.

7) The rails are fitted with K66 cushion rubber, and as a final step, the tops of the rails are sanded to prevent any ridge from showing through the cloth from the cushion matching up with the sub-rail.

I'll get into the warranty of the rails later...and yes there is a warranty as well as all sets of rails are serial numbered into matching sets.

NOTE: These replacement cushions are only available on a wholesale basis only, which means you either have to be a billiards technician or a vending company to purchase them wholesale. Retail is $225.00 per set.

Also, these replacement cushions are designed to correct the specific flaws of the tables they're designed to fit on, such as...you can't install Valley cushions on a Dynamo table and expect the balls to stop hoping off the cushions. These Dynamo cushions are designed specific to Dynamo, and therefor address that problem. Anyone else that builds replacement cushions seems to think that all Valley and Dynamo's are the same.

These replacement cushions were designed by me, and are built by my partner Kerry, in New Mexico. If you'd like any more information on these replacement cushions, feel free to call me anytime. 702-927-5689

PS. These replacement cushions are by far the best after market cushions ever offered for sale, and therefor far better then even the factory cushions...which I might add, is very sad. Penguin replacement cushions have no chance of competing against this production line of replacement cushions...sorry!

I can tell that by the amount of views already and no comments, you're wondering about the wholesale price. Well...to Billiards technicians and Vending companies...they're $125.00 a set, but...and I have no interests in retailing the rails, that is why the restriction on wholesale, I believe that the distribution of these new rails should be in the hands of the above mentioned only, it's up to them to retail the cushions, not me to take a sale away from them. Any bars that want the cushions are going to have to purchase them from a distributor only...that's the way I do business, I prefer to call it loyalty.

What kind of rubber is being used?
Thanks, Ron
Ron, sent you a PM. As for everyone else, we're not going to be having the rubber labeled for our own reasons, but I will tell you, it's pink in color...LOL As a billiards technician, and with as much experience as I have in the coin-op commercial area of the billiards industry, I can tell you right now, there isn't one person that won't be satisfied with the rails we produce. I gave up buying rails for bar tables a long time ago, which is why I always built my own replacement rails in the past. It's my partner Kerry that talked me into manufacturing them for world wide sales, I was just always content with the knowledge that I had better rails to install on coin-ops than anyone else had, or even offered. But, since I'm not really recovering bar tables to much anymore, Kerry convinced me to go ahead and manufacture them for wholesale distribution. So, these rails have been one of my long kept secrets when I was recovering over 1,000 bar tables a year back in the mid 80's up to mid 90's.

I designed these replacement rails, with the same knowledge that it took to design the 2 platter ball polisher that Diamond sells world wide, and the same knowledge that I designed my coin-operated pool tables with, which is what it took to consult Diamond into designing the Diamond Smart Tables being used and sold today.

I'll be posting pictures of the replacement rails soon, then you can see for yourselves as to the quality of the cushions we build. I'm suprised, 101 views, and only LCCS asked a question. Are there any of you billiards technicians even interesed in these rails? YOU...are one of the reasons I decided to go public with them in the first place. I already have several vendors waiting to buy, but I guess I expected some life out of the technicians here on AZ. What...don't any of you recover bar tables?

Glen

Howdy Glen - I wish I did work on more bar tables at the margin is there. Unfortunately, very few taverns in my area own their own tables and go thru a vendor.

This sounds like a great thing to invest in if anyone has some secured accounts. 95% of my jobs are in homes BUT, if things change here, I definitely have interest. I will be sure to let our league host locations with bar boxes know what you're doing. And if you'd like, I can sure forward some vendor information to you or your partner so you can contact them personally.

On the 9ft Diamonds, we're now using the 3/16" neoprene facings. The cloth in the pockets on the facings won't cut through anymore with the use of the 3/16" facing anymore. I just recovered the 2 Diamond 9ft ProAms in Pool Sharks here in Vegas. 1 had the 1/8" inch facings, the other one had 3/16"s. The one with the 1/8" facings, in all the corner pockets had the cloth cut through, while the other one didn't have one single cut across the facings, so there's no doubt which facings are better to use. And, yes...I changed the facings on the one table to 3/16"s because I didn't want to see that happen again.

I only have a few more things to get out of the way first...LOL...Like, finish recovering the tables today for the Reno Open...deliver 12 Diamond 7ft ProAms this weekend here in Vegas, Tue...deliver Fat-boy's Diamond 9ft ProAm, then deliver 3 to 6 Diamond 7ft Smart Tables to some bars here in Vegas...then maybe Wed take off for Mesa, AZ, got a 9ft ProAm going there, then over to Farmington, NM...3 7ft Smart Tables there, then up to Sioux Falls, SD...install SVB's Diamond 9ft ProAm, then up to Minot, ND...pick up 4 9ft Diamond ProAms, then off to Bremerton, WA. install them 4 9ft ProAms...back to vegas...oops, almost forgot, got a 9ft Diamond Professional to install in Cali on the way back to Vegas. If Diamond gets some more tables out here by that time...then I have an 8ft Professional going to East LA, and 2 more Diamonds to Tuscon, AZ....but, I have to be done with them deliveries by Dec 10th, cuz 5 of the Diamonds from the Reno Open have to be delivered to Rapid City, SD right after the tournaments over...then up to Washington State for Christmas...first in the last 5 years...LOL...THEN...after the first of the year...IWAN SIMONIS!!!!!!!!!!....LMAO...if I'm still alive!

Glen

PS....I think I'm missing something in there though...LOL...I know I have work waiting for me in Chicago...but that's not it...hmmmm It'll come to me later.

When I'm in LA, I'm stoping by to play Joe Rogan a race to 5 9ball, for fun...LOL, but that's not it...hmmmm
